As it stands ran out of cash as I've got another racer to build, just need to lose the casette. The seat post was a pain as I bought a 27.2 which was too big. Turns out it's an eldridge frame which is 26.4

the marin was a pain in the ass, I eventually stripped it of gears as my friend was desperate and had to get a scaffold pole onto the BB in the end! sorry about all that last year, but I only got the bb out last week.

Until about 5 years ago I always rode gears. Was offered a frame, so together with a load of bits I had built my first SS.
The first time I rode it, I couldn't understand why I hadn't done it long ago. Still have my geared bike, but now building another SS racer and also an SS Marin mtb.
personally I would get a used bike from lfgss as apposed to new. Whatever you get, good luck and enjoy riding

after having a pair of forks snap at the crown, I'd never mess around with them

Ss is correct about spindle length and I also think you should get the correct type of bb to fit your cranks, much easier to match them up

at last.....bottom bracket is out.
i borrowed a 5foot scaffold bar and literally hung of the end of it.....it did come with a fight though.
the fixed cup was non-drive side so it had been installed correctly

bollocks, tried heat and the damn thing won't budge, even with a 2 foot breaker bar no joy.
the adjustable cup was drive side though, so wondering if someone has put it in the wrong side and forced it....
non drive side unscrews anticlockwise, yes?
