I've been holding off for so long I have to commit to something - I did enjoy my Nexus4 which is why I'm back looking at Pixels. The S8 has been good too but I'm not a fan of all the bloatware Samsung force on you & they're constantly changing privacy settings (I assume to give them more access).
I was actually thinking of the normal Pixel 6, not Pro. Pro seems quite big, I'm not sure if curved glass is just a gimmick & my photography skills probably aren't up to needing the better camera. Who knows though, hopefully some decent reviews come out before the preorder window closes.

The streaming thing is such an interesting one; I find the really big streamers very difficult to watch, it's always such over the top americanisms (Nick Mercs, TTT, Tfue, Dr Disrespect etc...). They rake it in because the American market is so huge & seemingly that's what they like.
For me, success in streaming is 90% how entertaining people find you, not how good you are at whatever you're playing. Out of that list you have to go down a fair way to find the people that are winning the tournaments - Ayden for example wins a lot of competitions but is a relatively dull/not engaging streamer (still earning a chunk though).
I think it would be very difficult for a UK based streamer to start now & gain enough of the market to earn enough to not have to have another job but still lead a normal life. There are a few that are probably making enough; Tommey (British but based in the US), Fifakill & Jukeyz (they're in the UK but have to play in the US overnight to earn a wage), BennyCentral (mostly works for Xbox but streams on Youtube too) but they've all been grinding for years.
Twitch is full of channels of people streaming all day & night to less than 100 people (most of whom won't be paying anything), when you'd probably want, I don't know, 1k subscribers per month maybe to pay for rent, food, clothes etc?
Really difficult but doable I suppose if you've got some entertaining USP. -

After months of being in a losing rut & destroying my KDR I've finally managed to get a Warzone win again!
I think the game has taken pity on me & dumped me down into a lower level of lobbies - I've had to go back to solos for the win too, it's a more boring game style but at least you're not constantly left out numbered!
Just in time too, back at study now so got to take 6 weeks out the game. I'm on some magic BT waiting list for a PS5 so hopefully next time I play it'll be in the next generation!

Yes I'm on the mot checker, will need to see the proof of services tomorrow.
Across known suspension issues & rattly engines. We'll see, used cars near London has always been a swimming with sharks situation but my partner wants to learn to drive so needs a car (within some very specific parameters).

@withered_preacher - that's still a work in progress!
@jupiz - I'm not well versed in talking about whisky's but I'd say they're both off to decent starts but neither have particularly deep/complex flavors!
Torabhaig was a really nice place to visit, they had obviously put a lot of effort into making the place look like a classic distillery. The whisky itself I'd say has a nice initial flavor but you can tell it's young as that quickly makes way to a more just alcohol flavor - you can see where they're trying to go with it though so by the time they've gotten up to 10yr+ it's going to be good stuff.
Raasay was another nice set-up but more modern looking. The whisky is smoother with more fruit/sweetness and less peat than the Torbhaig.

Over the years Fender have finely honed their incremental improvements across the model ranges so that it really is the more you spend the better you get. There will of course be outliers where you get one good cheapie or an expensive dog but they're rare nowadays.
The Squier stuff is fine for the price but not really great (CV are better than VM). The body woods are not as resonant as decent alder & the finish is applied very thickly.
Specifically on the 70's P this might be a personal thing for me but I don't like the idea of pressing the strings down on what are essentially plastic blocks, I feel like you've got to lose something there.
Having said that, if I was playing in lots of dive bars again I'd use one of these Squiers - better yet a used Matt Freeman model.Mexican Fenders are solid workhorses - you can change stuff on them to taste but you don't need to. They're not as nicely finished as the American ones but they're better value for money.
American fenders are another step up - depends on your financial situation, they're nice things to have but are probably over kill if it's not your main instrument.
If you're going down the classic passive fender style, I wouldn't bother with a PJ - without pre-amps to change them they don't do the job of a P or a J as well as the originals.
Jack casady basses are nice to play and will sound fine at home played solo - I don't think they would work well in a band settling (outside of the man himself using one).

I have a McVities chocolate digestive 90% of the times I go downstairs for something - we get through a lot of them!
I do feel like they've changed the recipe of their chocolate though, something isn't right there. In years gone by the chocolate was hard so if you snapped the biscuit the chocolate would snap too but nowadays if you snap one the chocolate bends slightly before coming apart & has a more waxy texture - anyone else found that?

Don't the horsey Olympians win their medals because of their majestic control of the wild beasts? Nothing to do with the horses sideways dancing skill right? If you can't get a simple horse to do what you've told it, you should defo not get a medal.
Was on a call for the karate so couldn't hear the commentary - looked like they were just warming up then the coverage switched to a different sport?

What are the entry level but still ok longboard brands?
I've had a decade or so break from skating but I fancy a longboard for 90% cruising, 10% basic tricks.
I've got my old (standard) board that I cut down to be a mini-cruiser years ago but it's a bit small for my size 12 feet and heavier than years gone by body.I'm thinking something like the Lush Legend but they're quite spendy, I am unsure what cheaper brands are ok - anyone got any suggestions?
My Pixel 6 is here - yay!
Seems like it wants to copy data over from the old phone using a cable though, which is unfortunate as the port doesn't work on the old phone. I used SmartSwitch when I got the S8 to do it wirelessly but I think SmartSwitch only works getting data on to Samsungs, not off them.
Anyone know another way to copy the phone data/contacts/apps over from an S8 to Pixel 6 wirelessly please?
