Should Vittoria Open Corsa Graphene 23C be suitable for slightly gritty roads and wet weather? Rode with friend through the rain on Saturday around Surrey Hills. He got two rear punctures from tiny sharp pieces of gravel but on the third time in the first 15K the tube exploded and tore through the tyre - I had to go buy him a Conti 4 season so we could complete the ride. He's 77KG. They feel pretty thin and soft - is this normal or bad luck? We do think he might have been over-inflating due to dodgy gauge on pump.

I fucking hate the bridge st / westminster bridge / victoria embankment junction. There are lots of options now for getting on a bike from parliament square to victoria embankment eastbound on superhighway but they are all shit. The 'correct' one, i.e. waiting a fucking ridiculous amount of time at three sets of lights on the superhighway which are always red and then still having to contend with people still crossing and looking the wrong way / catching Jigglypuff when it's your turn winds me up. Fuck's sake/10.

Awesome. Did he save it then?
I had someone crash across me, both of us at ~30kph a little bit uphill. He careered left through the pack, hit my front wheel sideways on and did an endo over the kerb. He seemed committed to this weird direction. Something metal and sharp on the back of his bike cut my finger mid-endo, I am guessing rear brake cable. I was lucky to keep upright and not cause a mass pileup behind.
Best wishes to the ones who weren't so lucky.

About once a month I get a proper close punishment pass on priory lane by Richmond park, i assume its motivated by me not using the shitty cycle lane on the pavement. Always makes me think of that tiny nob from Brew cafe and his coke riddled rage...
It's particularly annoying as that cycle lane is only fit for those that are pottering to RP. Even for kids its pretty dangerous as one wobble could splat you off the curb into the oncoming traffic. Just bad all round really.
One hundred percent this. I usually get to overtake them at the traffic lights and get into the ASL, and sometimes have a chat. I asked one driver if he would be happy for me to be doing 20+mph on the shared pavement if his family were walking on it.

I've used a phone app called Rise for about 14 months. It's a food diary app where you take pictures of your meals but it connects you to a nutritionist. You choose one based on little bios, tell them what you're trying to achieve, you agree a goal for the next few weeks e.g. -2lb and they rate each meal and make suggestions. Mine tended to be happy with almost anything as long as there was protein and/or greens. She would make suggestions like if I had pasta, perhaps I should try wholegrain or add broccoli.
Positives:
- My diet has definitely improved because of the suggestions; I focus more on getting protein (am vegetarian), my diet supports training better
- I have more energy
- It's good to have someone encouraging you e.g. to share when you've had something good and probably makes you think twice about things you know they won't like.
Negatives:
- I haven't lost any weight, in fact it has been hard to maintain the same weight while following the advice.
- I did a lot better weight loss wise on MyFitnessPal.
- There's no numeric tracking of calories etc, only weight.
- Weight doesn't synch with wireless scales / HealthKit data.
- You quickly figure out exactly what they'll say for everything you eat so probably don't need to do it long term.
- It's awkward taking pictures of everything, especially at restaurants etc. When you're busy it's yet more faff.
Happy overall but dropping it now and going back to MyFitnessPal.

Thanks for reply. Leaning towards over-inflation being the cause of his misery.
