It was turning left from calthorpe street to phoenix place, right from phoenix place to mount pleasant then left from mount pleasant where it intersects with Gough st onto the continuation of mount pleasant
I get that sometimes it is permitted or safer but this sequence just seemed like trying to take the shortest possible route. -
I recall @Oliver Schick describing some people seeing cycling as being a form of assisted walking rather than using a vehicle, and saw the perfect example of this on the way in this morning: some guy leaving the road to go round corners by using the dropped kerb to mount the pavement then rejoining the road after the corner. He did this three times in a short stretch between Calthorpe Street and Mount Pleasant so I guess he must be really into it. It struck me as being pointless and annoying. A couple of those times I had to hold back from overtaking due to his trajectory being unpredictable due to this on/off approach to using the road and no attempts to look before manoeuvring. It may be some sort of marginal gains thing, but why not just ride a little bit faster and act like you belong on the road?

Ah, a nice wet road provides a reminder that motorists are kind enough to leave a nice streak of oil/fuel along primary position in the lane. That way I know where I should be riding and in no way is that why my discs are squeaking like mouse hell.
A moped delivery guy however disagreed with my road position later on my commute and told me I should be on the left after he tried to undertake at a right turn junction where there was no room for him to pass. Following some strong effing and blinding on his part, I enquired as to whether that was all he'd got, and apparently it was. In fairness it was a bit early for an escalation. -

Most of the time I see RLJing cyclists as being discourteous to those on foot but rarely particularly perilous to them. However last night while I was waiting at the lights on Rosebery Avenue where it intersects with Farringdon Road, some absolute weapon bombed through the assembled cyclists and through the crossing at a speed that would have caused some serious injury had he hit the woman who was crossing. It was really just lucky he didn’t, as he was riding with absolutely no regard for anyone, and you could see she was pretty shocked. Off he shot west down Farringdon Road. The same twat reappeared later on my route when he RLJd again at speed the wrong side of the pedestrian island on Barnsbury Road turning right into Copenhagen Street while I was waiting at those lights. For all the furious riding and twattery he hadn’t got anywhere faster than me. Nice one, dickhead.

I was quite pleased to see yesterday's announcement about life sentences for drivers who kill, but upon reading the Ministry of Justice press release on it, I had barely read five lines before face palming. Wtf is this line?!
"part of government action to make roads safer for all and stop devastation caused by dangerous drivers and cyclists"
Devastation caused by cyclists? Now one guy has been made an example of, we're now dealing with general devastation?

Bought these second hand myself but never fitted them and now I need the money more than I need to upgrade bits. There is the odd scratch but nothing major and they seem to be doing what they should mechanically. I can post at cost if required, otherwise I can do daytimes in Holborn area, evenings/weekends in Harringay (Manor House/Turnpike Lane) or somewhere between Holborn and Harringay after work.
I’ll take any interest in order of PM rather than dibs.

This is a sort of 'how not to leave your bike' - I was locking my bike up yesterday and noticed that the bike next to mine still had a smartphone in a handlebar mount. I hung around a bit to see if the owner would return then just put a carrier bag over the handlebar sort of as if it had been blown there. I didn't want to take it with me nor leave it in full view. Any other ideas for this sort of situation?
