No, bike stands are for people who want their bike at chest height, easy to work on and won't fall on them every 10 minutes (especially when they are pissing about with cantilever brakes and need 3 hands for example!)
Goes without saying, I don't have a bike stand.
This^^^
Also, nice Bob Jackson there.

if there is like a correct order in which one should do these things i would be grateful to know it.
I do things in this order - (if no gears involved)
seatpost
headset/forks
wheels
stem/bars
bb/chainset
chain
braks
saddle/grips/tapeThis because I don't have a bike stand, if i did wheels would go on later.

Malays I shopped some 40mm silver wheels on there because I was curious to see what it would look like. Try to ignore the logos on the rims. I think it will look pretty good with some black tyres and white par tape!

@ Malaysian - if you do as you've written, you will have another ordinary fixed gear build. the only thing that could be done to save it from being "not porn, not anti-, won't even stop scrolling the page when i see it" is to go full classic. you seem to have a nice crankset and seatpost to aid you in that already :)) all imho
what he says +1
Fair enough, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, the bike will never be seen as porn by most as it's a conversion. I'm looking forward to seeing what the silver deep section wheels will look like, bit late now as ordered them last night but appreciate your opinions guys thanks. When I get some free time going to give the chainset, stem and seatpost an oven clean and polish should look sexy then.
+1 That 'joke' is pretty shitty
Was thinking this, this forum probably not the best place for that joke, or the following "what's better than..." joke, knowing that a fellow forumenger has a wife in a wheel chair. Bit inappropriate.

Done 56mph on Hetchins down a country lane in Leeds, think that's about terminal velocity for me (not very aerodynamic)
Not sure about fixed, was doing 30 the other day on 42x16 (about 70gi) following someone with a speedo.
At 56 you start thinking this is when a helmet would make sense. Right buzz though hopping drain covers.

I've just put an order in, straight forward. Looking forward to my new wheels.
In terms of the debate above I see both sides of the argument. I understand wanting to keep things exclusive to the forum. In this case without the issue of the item being snatched out from under the forum is it less of a concern?
I can't see what varno is donating but if he is conducting regular business on the forum, making reasonable donations to the running of the forum, as well as filling the niche requirement for affordable wheels. Surely it is of benefit to the forum as a whole.
Also with the positive feedback he has received thus far, it seems he is not out to take advantage. He also seems to have been open about his dealings.
I know rules are rules, but are there times perhaps when rules need to be considered objectively?
just my 2 cent.

the americano song - heard it for the first time last weekend when i had to play it, covering for a mate in a pub. not my bag. Have to admit, about 10 seconds of a breakdown in it reminded my of that gramphonzie (splg?) track, but the rest of it. Just a beat, no tune. SHIT SHIT SHIT seems the way commercial house/electro has gone. terrible.

or, just bid early what you think you can afford/ want to pay, and then, who gives a fuck if it goes over budget, just leave it.
last minute bidding is an idiot's game. That is ridiculous. Bidding early just drives up the price for everyone else.
Peoples last minute bidding will then outbid your bid by a quid or so.

You have to sit and watch it count down to zero, when it gets to 8 seconds click to enter new bid, whether you're winning or not. Remember you have to click again on a new screen to confirm this. If you want it, put a feeler bid out earlier to see what the other bid is like, you can find out how high the other person has bid already. When it comes to your final bid, think about what you're willing to pay then add £2.55 or something onto it, stops you being pipped by pennies. It will only bid the minimum ammount you need to win the item anyway.

^^^Nice to see a bike with bars angled for comfort for a change!
What colour is that? copper chrome or summat?
