Hey @853Superfly no problem at all. I'm running 25c tyres on open pro rims (so not the widest) and there's loads of clearance. Pretty sure 28c would be fine in both frame and fork.
No drilling required. Brake went straight on. No wax involved either!?

Thanks @umop3pisdn I'd prefer no stackers but my T-Rex long legs/short body mean I needed a small for the right reach but the short head tube means I do need a spacer or two. Most of my bikes I've slammed the stem, but I think that would make this uncomfortable on some of the longer rides I have planned for it. I have a matching rear wheel for the front which I'll probably normally use and I'm on the hunt for a black toupe as the white one doesn't look right.
It's pretty nimble from first impressions: https://www.strava.com/activities/893322562

So managed a quick blast at lunchtime as the sun was out @853Superfly @kjlem got some pics :)
Used a different wheel as it had the 14t I wanted to ride on a short blast. Handling much crisper than my 2006 langster and the front end was noticeably stiffer when honking up the inclines. The rear felt planted is the best way I can describe it. Really happy with how it rides from first impressions.

@853Superfly I'm not a "skidder" either, but as @spinnnout said, a front brake and some resistance applied by the legs works perfectly well. Wrecking tyres isn't mandatory if you ride fixed.

Yep @853Superfly frameset with donor parts from the old bike. Will get a complete bike pic tomorrow in the daylight and not with the cluttered backdrop of my garage. Much as I loved my Langster, steel is my preferred material so really looking forward to giving this a spin.

@chazzers @Wilko @Adscan @user73272
FYI I met with the first man in the queue today and he took it. A sad day for me as it was very reliable and thoroughly enjoyable bike to ride. Good luck to you all in your searches for something similar. Cheers.

Hi @Adscan I already have someone who wants to buy it. If that falls through for any reason I'll let you know. Thanks.

@_nico Thanks, but genuinely, I'd rather stash it in the loft for a rainy day than faff about with boxes, couriers, insurance and so on. Sorry and good luck in your search for something similar.

Much loved, much used but still loads of fun to be had on this still. The best looking Langster in my opinion. Has skulls on it, so it must be the best.
Upgraded the fork to an Easton EC70 carbon one and it has a cane creek sealed bearing headset. Stem is a Bontrager X lite -17 degree 100mm and the post is a cheap but perfectly functional aluminium jobbie. Chain is the one I used and worked ok with a 18T through to 15T sprocket on a 48T chainring.
It's all quite tired looking, but functions just fine and rides really nicely once built. Frame takes a rear brake if you're so inclined as does the fork, although the brake hole on the fork looks a bit corroded, it takes a brake just fine. Got a tatty pair of Bonty 42cm bars I can include if you want/need them.
£65 for the lot. Priced to sell, collection from between Tonbridge and Maidstone. Would rather hang it in the garage than go to the bother of posting so don't ask. :0) Ta.

I had a Klein Klein (the ones the "nerdy" lot want on the retro bike forum) with a few period upgrades and it sold for £400. This was one of the first frames that were effectively Treks branded as Kleins. Not made in the USA unlike the pre Trek models. Still a nice bike and in good condition for it's age. But tell your cousin not to hand in his/her notice just in case they thought this might make them rich. The "proper" Kleins had stunning fade paint jobs, had coke can thin oversized main tubes with internal cable routing. GLWS.

Is it just me, or does Nicola Sturgeon's bloke look a lot like Gregor Fisher?
