It's not completely enclosed, as along the top tube it's open. I.e lever-housing-open-housing-open-housing- derailleur.

Yeah, I bought it off him a few years ago. I think he put wheels on and wasn't tall enough to clear the top tube. Time for a change though.

Yeah a week or so ago, it was covered in black grime so just cleaning that off made a big difference. The listing was pretty accurate, it had been ridden into the ground. The paint was a bit battered and the drive train needs replacing but the seller knocked some money off for the stuck seatpost which he hadn't noticed, so in my opinion is was quite good value overall.

New project, adventure touring bike. First job was to get a stuck seatpost out, after three days of pouring caustic soda into it, it was finally dissolved enough to winkle it out with a screw driver.

Yeah, if you're going to take as little gear as possible then use your road bike.

Thanks! It's nice to ride, handles well, but as you'd expect there's a bit of flex in it. To be honest I'm not desperate to get rid of it, but I just collected a bike I won of ebay and I thought id stick it on gumtree/ebay and see if there was any interest.

Are they the camera processed jpegs, or raw? If jpegs, what settings are you using?

Microadventured last night in the south downs, left at 4:30 yesterday and made it back by 10 this morning. Walked a few miles through the contryside south of Petersfield, camped on a hill we walked up, cooked on a campfire and trangia, felt like a holiday!

On my first tour I planned a route, however all that happened was I was stuck on a very boring road for miles and miles. The planned route lasted a day before I turned off and just chose places that looked like I could hide a tent and were roughly the direction I wanted to go in.

I'm kind of lazy and can't be bothered to plan a route. I know I'll just end up changing my plan because someone I met on the way will tell me about a waterfall or lake or nice town. I also enjoy the fact that a cycle tour takes little planning, just get on a bike and go!
