^ I know it's a bit fishy, so knowing they were going to a good home would help. I'll firm up the price, but i do know I'd only consider selling as a pair.
Absolutely devastated these are both non machined. Good luck, absolute steal.
You could run a brake and they'll make their own surface and bed eventually, in my experience of say the Dp18 which i've run on a road bike. As, its such a bargain, you could re-build the front onto an SL2 and have a spare rear ;)

Yeah, my mistake, that would be a bit long....Okay, looks like I had the 44mm version....cool!!
This seems to have answered my questions.
Would you be up for posting the post?
and "dibs" ?
PM'ing

Hah, done that....
Is the seatpost 44cm min insert to rail, or total length?
Also, are wider clamps availble? Only ask as i had an Black SP72 and ran a Flite Ti on it no problem, wondering if it was the same clamp, but don't have it to measure... I'll have a "utfs" moment and maybe have that off you. -

Cheers, Ruud. Its a nice Frame, for sure.
Hah, I wish I did have a stash of desirable parts! There maybe a few hanging on some frames, but not much that you wont have seen here. Just seem to have found a few happy P/X's and swaps recently, which is much nicer way of doing things. The best is yet to come....

I have had a steel Frameset hanging around for ages, waiting for some love, my "run-around/london bike" was the intention. Fully chromed but had been hand painted and stickered with De Ver, Possibly 531c, Campag Dropouts, don't know much else. A nice Frame, but with recent Ti obsessions, it had been left to lie. This is it,
Then, I got distracted by a frame i saw on ebay that a fellow forumenger was getting rid of. Asked one question too many (which was one) and soon swapped some parts, then this turned up this morning....
Then this happened this afternoon,
Thanks Pepe for the frame! We obviously shared good taste ;) It caught my eye a while back, but I had no funds to have a bid....
Bit of a mix of parts. Some that were awaiting the "runaround" project, some that were meant for other things and some that were just knocking about.... few adjustments to make, but it runs nicely, pretty light and a good looking frame imho. Its an 853 frame and forks, not surewhat it's orignal intentions were as a custom frame, or when/if ends were converted (it's 130mm rear spacing) or made for an internal hub, or what....doesn't matter, makes it a nice versatile frame to have.
Now looking for a suitable, longer, seatpost after reading the "Broken Caygill" thread....

Good to hear that circumstances weren't any worse and you survived relatively unharmed, could've been a nasty one that.
Hmmm, I just took receipt of an "853" Caygill this very morning..... heads off for ST/Post length safety checks
Lovely frame, hope the magic happens and it's back on the road soon.

^ Hah, really? Gas Pipe. Never knew, but suspected better as it by no means heavy.
^^one of the gear shifter levers was snapped, so were just being used as a brake levers. Bought it like that and never bothered to change it. Plus I like flicking (not to the point of changing gear) those little levers on the campag ergos, for some reason!?

Hah!
They'll be missed and they ride so well. Also, the gold ones are "superlight" where as the Black are standard. I did consider stripping/re-anodising, but too much of a faff.
Yes, only selling to fund new wheels...would keep them if I could afford to.
