Started out with all good intentions and plans to get there early and have a gentle saunter of a ride down to Pimlico. What actually happened is I set off late, forgot my tools/spare tube etc so turned back, then realised I'd also forgotten water bottle, hip flask, door keys and map to find the start. I now had 45 mins to get from Southgate to Pimlico - so it was a flat out blast and I arrived bathed in a very un-gentlemanly sweat!
However, on the upside, the weather was just brilliant, the company was great and the organisation was top-hole! Well done Teddy and the rest of the gang.
Highlights of the day:
The weather,
didn't see anyone get a flat,
tea out of china cups and sandwiches with the crusts cut off,
fab G&T at the finish - served from the back of a vintage Rover 90,
and most of all, spending the whole day with a smile on my face.NB. just found some cucumber sandwich squished into the tread of my shoes. I might keap it as a momento.

Well done you guys. Looks like a bit of an epic! I particalarly like the photo of trackstanding on the travellator - cool! I wanted to do this ride but had been booked out by Mrs Conker, so I was thinking of you last night - thing is, I was thinking how lucky you were with the weather - a bit chilly, but a nice starry sky. How different it seems to be down there south of the river.

Oliver, sorry to hear (late as usual) about your injury. On the bike side of things, I once saw a guy with one arm doing a London to Brighton ride. He had both brake cables going into one lever and the front changer was mounted 'old stylee' on his down-tube. He was going up a steep hill at the time! Amazing!

I think I will be, ... I'll know closer to the time. If I go, I won't be doing any leaning on the handlebars and I'll ride one-handed most of the time.
Hey, what with all that "no leaning" business, I thought I had inadvertently got onto one of the "don't lean in the snow" threads!
What did you do to your shank Oliver?
ALSO, the Dover Castle sounds like the world's most perfect pub, quiet mews, never very busy, CHEAP!

.... depends on the quantity. A short run used to be (about 10 years ago) 50+ shirts, but these days with the advent of digital stuff a short run starts at 1 shirt. Until 2 years ago I ran a print and copy shop - then, a screen printer would probably charge you about £50 per screen (1 per colour) and then just a few bob each to run them off. We used to print shirts from laser transfers run through our Xerox and we charged £10 each with small discounts after the first 5 shirts. The Xerox option is limited to transfer size, usually A4 or A3.
Hope this is some help.

I'd never heard of Strong Island, so when I saw the "Strong Island Roundabout on Vimeo" I got the idea it was a collection of half-wit's just going round and round a roundabout! Now there's an idea. I wonder how many people can successfully cycle round my local roundabout? (Cockfosters if you're interested)
