Corny - see if @jd will let you have a go on his whale. He's loving it.
We had a 500cc X9 for a bit - was quite fun on open roads but a total liability filtering - like paddling a big canoe through traffic. Xmax looks a bit nippier.

So I got drafted into riding the mean machine back from Bedford yesterday.
Rode the A1 most of the way as I was in a bit of a rush. What a laugh. Easy 70 mph cruising, floaty but controlled suspension and enough poke for confident overtakes. I turned off by horseshit bridge and went up Galley Lane for a bit of B road action too - much fun. Didn't quite get the ABS to kick in...
Not bad for something that looks so small and innocuous. Bloody marvellous condition and mileage for £2k. Just got to make sure it doesn't get nicked now.

I was going to really scare everyone with a pic of @Ramsaye at full moon but didn't want to be responsible for the trauma.

Is there a way to hire one and try it out in rush hour a few times (preferably in weather).
I’d be wary of a 70 mile per day round trip including the entire width of central London every day - might make you hate 2 wheels (or 3 in this case). Personally I don’t find the A40/ Euston rd/ city road very relaxing. Also filtering a 3 wheeler at any speed will be a lot harder than a bike.
You might find a zen way to do it though.
