... Pop into Condor to have a test ride.
i'm a little far from condor...
a friend just bought a 953 chip race but it's pricey for me.
i test ride many modern steel bikes and i will have kona haole for a day
but it doesn't came as frameset and i don't like kona's logo on my bike to be honest.
so i focus on Rourke's 853 super oversize, spirit from a local builder etc.Haven't done any long ride with it yet but so far I can tell that I love it. Some people might think that it is heavy and slow since it is a steel frame but it actually gives you the feeling of a modern bike: quick, responsive and stiff.
The forks I got are different to the ones provided by condor though. Mine are Deda Reb 07, not expensive at all.
did you ride any carbon frame recently? a comparison would be interesting.
thanks for all replies

And in Columbus land, seeing as I am not very heavy and presumably not very "demanding" (whatever that means) I can choose SL over Cromor?
Might be a price issue though mind you, I'll find out next week.EDIT: They don't seem to make SL anymore, but supposedly there is plenty left in the market?
Oh, and lugged versus welded. Do I care? Should I?
.there are some SL tubesets available to builders but i don't think that there is a
builder that will suggest you SL for commuting at your size.try to be more accurate about your needs to your builder.
At 52 you can achieve low weight and stiffness just choosing proper tubes
and lugs, not paying much.If it's not a matter of cost, just ask for a mix of steel that resist corrosion,
at 52 you will notice more differences depending the builder than the tubeset.prefer welded only if you don't like lugs or you like the looks of OS tubing.
You can even ask for welded standard tubes at 52 (OS headtube) but i think
that will give you more flex than any other.Typically weights at 52 are close to 1600gr with SL, i don't think that you
be much heavier even if you choose the worst tubeset available.A proper briefing to your builder will give you the most i think.

What did they do with the headset and spacers?
Is it torched with fire or something? It's a process depending on temperature that you can apply, very unstable
and half strong than anodizing.
Jewelery artist use small torches and you can always erase the effect with
proper chemicals or a light polishing cream.as a reference

The seat post looks a bit smaller than the right one, seat lug is distorted
while been loose (~1/3mm) front and back. That will allow a small movement to
seatpost that eventually wear off seat tube.
I 've seen those lugs in many bikes build with columbus SL. All of them have a 27.2 seat post.Except its boring silver, looks like a descent road bike in good condition.

It's not powder-coating, it's enamel.
There's a huge difference in temperatures.
So much that PC cannot take any sort of decals due to heat.pc can masked with proper mask, it's rife in production lines.
You just have to keep the right order (from light to dark) on
paint layers and use fine coats to avoid adding weight.i 'm sorry about the frame, it's very difficult to be wrong so much
in color temperature with plain colors. You are right to be upset
but if you have give him a sample or a RAL reference you will
be more accurate.if you like to remove vinyl stickers, it's easy, use a sand paper (1200)
to reveal their edges. A bluish set will work...ps: sorry, i just see that was months ago...

After two years in love, our mad friend decides to put some (shorter) cranks
and new cog - chain.
We decide to recompense him with a decent paint job for his beauty.
If anyone knows anything about will help a lot.The dealer that sold it said something about being a Bianchi and the original
paint work was something like gold-brown shadows on silver metallic base.
No drills, italian threaded.
sorry about the phone photos... we try to surprise him.

Doesn't have any carvings on dropouts?
Looks like been made with deda tubes.
colors, decals and philosophy point rossin but i 'm not an expert.
Those kind of forks always remind me tange...
Rossin or not, seems like a very interesting ride.
