if she called you and said she would pay for the damage then get your golden nuggets off her ( quickest and simplest method).
if the wheel cost £40 to sort out. ask for £60-£70 that will cover your troubles

if the problem is not being visible during late/early hours, just using a reflective bag/t-shirt/hoodie with deaf ect printed on it might not enough. maybe also consider more lights to give your maximum viability. maybe a light on your messanger bag/rucksack to highlight the deaf word.

what about 2light for the rear ( one flashing, one constant), well you get the idea... other road users will notice you earlier and have more time to read the deaf message. everyone wins
