BIKE HIRE:
My local host tells me the big bike shop in Udine (trying to locate web link) rents out top quality carbon frame road bikes that have a retail value of between 2000-4000 EURO FOR AROUND 40 EURO a day or around 100 EURO per week. I'm going to find out the finer details but if there's any questions you want me to ask on your behalf - hit me with them.

Easyjet is fine. It's ryanair I have the beef with.
I thought I was supposed to end up in Trieste? /confused
Shit, can't believe I'm thinking of flying somewhere already.. I'm sure parts of my buttocks are still dead from the Oz trip. Sorry cliveo..
@Hippy I've emailed you a couple of things this morning.
Definitely flying to TRIESTE not TREVISO.
Flying to Venice is an option, but then tagging on a 2/3 hour train ride to Udine is also necessary, as it is unlikely I can get a pick up from Venice from our host.
I also need to check which Venice airport is most convenient for train.
Back soon with some local knowledge. -
I'm taken a back. That's the most civil you've ever been. To me.
Pm done.
For the record, its not for me but another midget. We stick together.
Chi
send the chap a PM
or you might start an open bidding war
also can you start monitoring the site rather than me pinging you an email each time a bike for midgets comes available
see you at yoga

Either that, I think their so called "great coffee" has hallucinogenic properties that even Carlos Castaneda would be proud of.
I haven't met the "fat cunt". I was advised he was one of the gods of the forum, so I duly sent him an obligatory sycophantic PM as all noobs are advised to.
You're the only fat cunt I have the misfortune of knowing.

Hiya. Count me in please - however are you okay with some who is very new to cycling (riding only for 10 weeks), still very slow and doesn't ride a fixie or single speed (yet)?
My longest ride (survived) so far, 40 miles, daily commute is varies but approx 40km plus one long weekend ride per week.
I understand if I need to be ejected. -
Just wanted to say, thanks to all with their consideration and comments - all varied and all helpful. I feel very possibly (probably to early to really tell being a noob 'n' all to LFgSs) that maybe I'm finally getting the hang of things around here and completely understand why there is so much love for this forum.
Long live LFgSs!

It's about 50:50.
Actually being a beginner, I always take the back foot when I know I've done something wrong or badly, which diffuses the situation a great deal. To be honest, some encounters with drivers have been quite comic. I've had two occasions when drivers have followed me after I changed lanes very badly and I can see/feel hate in the eyes (justifiably so). Once they confront me, and I see "I'm just a girl (looking endearing in a helmet helps a great deal), the hate drains from their face and their stance goes from "WTF!!!!" to "Are you alright, love?"
Saying that, of course being competent on a bike is more important than getting the soft touch.
Win some, lose some.
The usual mockery or routine racism bothers me less (and I often retaliate to that) but this was the first form of physical violence I've encountered on a bike. Having not a great deal (nothing in fact) to "back it up" in some physical confrontation that involves me being out numbered, it seems the better solution to ride off, but that means dealing with the aftermath of the heightened frustration (as described by DFP).
Maybe I seriously need to consider taking some form of self defense too.
And moving out of Finsbury Park.
Good porn just isn't a good enough reason to stick around.MMM i think we need to address the issue another way!
how many times have you had constructive and good comments from people? when Fiddy got knocked down last week the driver of the vehicle could not have been nicer. a true fking grade A Gent!
i have more people appologise and smile than have attacked. these one offs are...ONE OFFS. sod it Londons famous has it's share of mentalists but is so small ignore it, if it gets near you kill it in the face -
Being someone who has not cycled for very long, I've found it strange that I've experienced both more hostility (and niceness too) as a cyclist than a pedestrian.
I was so surprised by the incident, it made me so mad, I was trying a new route to get to the Isle of Dogs, that I could not read my map for about 10 minutes and got disorientated for a good while. That made me even more angry!
Just because a cyclist is such a novelty and target for fun.
