I think it's the bus drivers that should be congratulated for careful and considerate driving. The amount of people on bikes swarming any available space near moving busses this morning was slightly worrying – thankfully the drivers seemed well aware and avoided any carnage. Made me think of elephants trundling through the tundra without squashing anything.

Mostly. DA chainring has done circa 200 miles but brand new chain and rear cog - they now have about 50 miles working together, so yes, as new. It doesn't sound like the usual bedding in of a new drivetrain though. Also, the sound hasn't changed since the day one. I'll give it more miles and see. Actually raining now so a bit of grit and water should wear off the hard edges!

New bike build (steel track frame) with really annoying noise from drivetrain.
Details: DA 7710 cranks with 50t DA chainring and at the back a surly 18t cog both 3/32. Chain is a KMC 3/32 specific chain.
The noise is like the rattling of metal mudguards when pedalling, more so under load. A high pitch vibration. And the noise does appear to be cyclic. I've made sure the chain is tensioned with just a little slack - everything moves freely. I do notice that when turning the cranks the chain tension does vary, indicating a less than round chainring. thing is, I figured DA should be fairly round.
Chainline appears (to the eye) to be straight. Possibly there is a millimetre of deviation.
Ideas?
Long story short, I've checked most things, re-fitted components, cleaned and then double checked again and it's still there.

Hi All, I'm wanting to try a Fizik Antares saddle before I plump for a new one.
If you have one you don't need or wish to swap for something else give me shout. I'm happy to buy/trade/part exchange whatever. London location ideally for ease.
Saddles I have to exchange: Fizik Aliante and a Sella Italia Flite Original (the reproduced version).
Cheers!

... Is porn simply "that is a bike I lust after" [irrespective of whether it is f'ugly]? ....
I'm inclined to go with this sentiment. If lust is involved. Aesthetics are interpreted differently by everyone so no point getting hung up on colours etc.
That Cannondale MTB certainly makes me lust after a new MTB of some kind, not that one, but something similar. And I like the dirt - I'd much prefer used bikes rather than just wall hangers.

On the other hand, should people even be able to make a living through sport - male or female?
FWIW there should be equality in earnings, even if it means slightly fewer male "pros" can get sponsorship etc. Try and equal out all areas. Weirdly, isn't golf one of the more progressive sports? will have to google that later...

might try a set of these - my Sennheiser CX300II's are giving up the ghost in one channel after 8 months - I've been through a set a year for 5 years now
The sound magic e-10s are excellent for sound quality and build quality at that price point. The only negative for me was that they never fit as well as my senn cx-300s - my previous fav budget in-ears. I always have to use the smallest buds/tips. If you are comfortable with medium or large tips the the e10s will be fine.
Or, as I tell everyone, save up and buy klipsch x-10i. Brilliant in-ears.

Fucking unbelievable. Crush her car, ban her from driving for 10 years and prison for 12 months at least. The law really needs review.
Oh, and the Predator thing, ideally blows her texting arm off with the triangle plasma gun thingy – cut to shot of her arm on the ground twitching, phone still in hand... -
Wasn't there some funky cube camera years ago that did stuff like that?
Yes.

What's the easiest type of wheel or rim/hum/spoke combination to learn wheel building with?
I'm wanting to teach myself and was thinking a set of basic novatec track hubs, mavic open sport rims and some ACI spokes built 32h and 3 cross would be the most basic and trouble free route. A good start or better suggestions? -
Hi, I have had a change of mind for a wheel build so these are now not needed.
SOLD
New, never laced 32 hole black Archetypes. Purchased from Hub Jub for £50 per rim and rather than post back there for a refund I figured I'd offer them here. Original packaging and box all intact. I'm pretty sure you can't find these for £45 per rim anywhere so I won't go lower on price. I'd also like to avoid postage as I may as well send them back if I do that. So London pick up or I can drop off if you're close by. I'm located in N1, near Dalston Junction.PM with any questions and first with cash gets them. Thanks for looking.

For train tix and such Groupsave works for the train only. Good deal though and saves loads.
Def. get the fast (foot) ferry as it is timed to train arrivals and is connected to the train station. In reality the crossing takes about 12 mins.
There's so many decent pubs on the island i would bother taking anything but a coffee pot and stove. There is a drastic lack of good coffee there. Giant milky burnt cups are the norm.
Bialetti Moka express and small burner + pre ground coffee = camping win
