How long is the steerer?

Hey this sounds amazing but I am a bit confuzzled. Just to be clear Coach and Horses is a pub (with a garden I imagine ha) where will people be parking/locking up their bikes?

Yeah this was my last resort. I actually did just find a pair on ebay but if anybody on here has any I'd rather deal with a london forumer than ebay

But that was exactly where I thought a certain shop (who I wont flame although it seems to be common here, ha!) got a pair from and tried to charge me £55 without a headset.

Title says it all. Anybody who has seen my peugeot knows I am in dire need for a new pair of forks. Ive been to tour de ville and countless other bike shops and either they can't help or they charge way to much (Looking for something cheap-ish or very cheap if you got some cruddy ones)

my steerer length is about 16/17 cm so the steerer should be that length or if longer I can just get them cut I suppose.

edit: Actually i bought the rear wheel off Mattty and he said something about the conventional method not being able to work on this and that the way to make it fixed would be to suicide convert.

Im coming next tuesday is anybody coming who can give me instructions on how to put a fixed cog on my rear wheel via the suicide method. Ill give it a good clean beforehand and maybe get a beer for whoever does!!!!

Is the black fork threaded?//and is it for 700c wheels?//Whats the steerer length

I hope this weather sorts itself out

I bought a rear wheel from a forum member and I had to walk my chainless bike all the way from Central London to Brick lane to find a shop that would put a chain on ASAP without a waiting time & over pricing (14) Cavendish, 2 different cycle surgerys, 2 different evans stores + some other new one near Grays inn road were all useless.

14 also has quite nice people working in it who are happy to explain how stuff works and what things mean unlike other stores who just talk at you and sneer at you for asking (in their opinion) silly questions. They also have a fucking amazing location with that massive open space w/ benches to sit and have a drink

I wont be able to afford a bicycle from there just yet though. =/

Really considering this one as I missed the Brighton one. I've never done any long distance cycle like this before and I can just imagine myself collapsing somewhere in the middle of the countryside. ha.

Yeah thats the one. The thing is I am the most impatient person in History. I missed the Brighton overnighter because I didnt have any wheels and it killed me a bit inside. I dont think I can last any longer w/o having a bike. Ive been having to take the bus lately and its horrible.

Waiting for the paint to dry would drive me nuts I'd probably just whip it on to my bike and fuck up the paintwork as I only have one front wheel.

What is the £45 minimum charge per colour about? If I want to get my rim done (w/ making tape over spokes etc) will it be £15 + £45 or just circa £15?
