Only one I can find...
Needs, longer travel forks that have gone on the Kinesis, matching 26" wheelset (D521s on XT discs that came on the bike with the forks) new stem, front brake replacing, new tyres....
cool, I was trying to do something similar, put some pikes on my suburban but it felt weird when they were wound right out, only feels right at 100mm. Probably because the head angle is quite steep. Need a new frame. Meh

some Topeak mini ratchet multi tool set that comes in a little pouch, Rocket something I think it's called
needed a torx head to change a disc and it was the only thing in the shop that had one. I was initially a bit irritated I had to spend the best part of £20 to use only one tip, but now its my favourite and I use it the most!

What do you think it's from? My guess was from the cable stretching a bit and messing up the tension to change the gearing (just by a small amount, but enough to interfere with smooth steps)
not researched it at all (only felt it through my finger, and listened intently through the traffic) but I would reckon it's something to do with the cable being under tension, and whatever part holds/releases the cable inside the shifter cannot grip it for too long while you are shifting. Feels like a shitty plastic ratchet, and the cable just slips right through unless you fully press the button, which seems to grab it on the other side, if that makes any sense?
I hope this is sorted on the next shifters, if there are any coming out

Quality-wise I thought the versa shifters were okay, only major complaint is downshifting sometimes it jumps from 4 to 1 if you press the button slowly, but this doesn't happen if you keep pedalling while shifting down, and make sure you press the button firmly and release it quickly. This shouldn't really happen on something so pricey but there are no alternatives sadly!

Project MTB is going good, 2 problems have arisen though. Firstly Couldn't mount the front disc as the forks have a different mount so I've ordered an adaptor.... Secondly, while examining my forks I found that if I shake them, something inside rattles. Pretty annoyed, I've had them for maybe 4 or 5 years, but have ridden them very little, externally they are in mint nick. Well out of warranty, shame as I had great opinion of Marzocchi before. They still work, just damping isn't too great. Will ride them for now and if I get alot of use out of the bike will replace them.

This where I'm up to, just to mount front brake and change the semi slicks for knobblies. Think I'm going to keep the Ritchey finishing kit for now as it's very nice in the flesh.
what frame is this?
