Ah interesting, didn't know that but makes total sense, like mtbs. Being the tart I am have been planning on upgrading the CRFs but thought I'd ask.

Any know if braided hoses are a thing on dirt bikes? I know they don't need to be as good compared to road use, just seems like something you never see.

For full disclosure I did the top right once home.

Only took one photo which doesn't include hills. Sorry. CRF is like a little tractor and never seems to break into a sweat on ascents. On the other hand I was definitely sweating on the descents, makes a nice change from my usual Beds and Cambs lanes.

Rode out to the chilterns this morning to explore the byways. Turns out they have hills. Cools story bro etc.

I am here for all these eBay gems. Always torn when looking at track bikes, half of me thinks I'll never use one but also aware of the savings when buying secondhand. Grrr

For me the worst drivers on the road are the ones who just have zero awareness, they're equally likely to do 60 on an empty motorway or 50 through a 30. Just baffling.

Interesting. Was this recently and how long driving at 'normal' speeds did you get away with before a nice brown envelope through the door?

When I drove transits for work every weekend 7-8 years ago it never seemed a thing, don't think anyone was ever fined. Presumed it would be more of a thing now with ANPR and general driving restrictions increasing.

@pdlouche think the transits I drove had adjustable speed limiters to make this easier, but that's a good outlook regardless.

@pdlouche if I'd ever get a van it'd be a swb transit like yours, but presumably this means travelling -10mph compared to other traffic (apart from through town)? If so, keen to get your thoughts on this as you become more ingrained in the men with ven culture.

With a van that size you're probably still smaller than the newest Land/Range Rovers or SUV monstrosities that grace the road. If you lived locally I'd be aggressively offering to buy you pints in return for bike related favours, so watch out for these. In the near future I'm keen to get a trailer to do some events with the CRF, the Sweet Lamb Baja series looks very tempting.

Thanks all for the advice. It's our first house so learning a lot quickly on the DIY front. So glad we got the room reskimmed for what it cost. Last week I knocked through the boarded up fireplace so starting to get more excited now I can see it all coming together.
