When I mentioned I had a pull cord light to Olby he laughed at me and said I must be one of the last in Lewisham. I am pleased to hear I am not. I hated the thing and hid the rose of it in the attic cavity with a shiny brass-tube lined/washer finished hole through the ceiling for the cord to descend through. very tidy, very minimal, very pointless.

muuto 70/70? 10cm shorter than your target, but hits the price point if you can find somewhere with 15% off. We've got one with oak ply top/black legs, really happy with it, but they do one with a solid oak top now too.

Pretty sure no cocks. But who knows! House isn’t super rural, just a weird/magic combo of in the middle but also on the edge of town. 10 min walk to stables and fields, ten min walk to cafes/butchers/bakeries. Busy postbox outside, so plenty of passing egg traffic 🤞. Chickens definitely committed to, I hope there’s a handover pack so we can at least know their names.

Chatting about this today, we barely looked at the house we're throwing all our pennies at. No idea about its current state or what's in there (apart form survey stuff, obvs).
Is it in the right place? Yes. Could we eventually maybe get it how we want it after liberal application of further purely theoretical cash? Yes. Not enough ok houses coming up, prices all too high, had to move quick and just gamble that it'll be better than anything else that comes up in the next six months at the (likely upwardly-shifting) price point. Couldn't tell you whether the hob in the kitchen was gas or electric, what the water pressure is like or even the finer points of the conservation area it's in.

like this 17x12 offering (with crop marks, such generosity)

@moocher Here's you grid at 1:1, but figuring out the tiled printing I'll leave to you as InDesign won't let me tiled-print to PDF for some reason. If you want the grid split up into A4 chunks (+ 10mm margin) that's achievable but I'm not putting in crop marks for you.

I have one I have been keen to rehome with a needy forumer for years. Unfortunately I am not currently where it is, but I should see it again some time before the year is out if you want it. Bonus points if you're up for collecting it from SE London or ~Bath, as it's still attached to a wheel and I'm not keen on posting.

Clamshell mode – if a mouse/kb/screen is connected it should be happy with the lid down.

You can definitely do this, but it's a really hostile UI. The field is there you just can't see it because there's no number there yet.
