I had a blast at Peaslake yesterday! Got there after a terrible night's sleep, not ridden in a month, really not feeling it or the weather. But two trails in and found it super grippy, and even the sloppy bits were funny AF sliding round corners sideways. It was so busy there, honestly don't think I've seen it as busy even in summer, but weirdly hardly saw anyone once on the trails.
I concede, I did spend a lot of the day jealous of the other 99% of people on big e-bikes... -

Wanted to talk about hope brakes mentioning 'grease' leaking being normal.
My comment on that was based on getting some brakes back from a service by Hope. They lubed the pistons with Hunters, and when I pulled the brake, you could see a very small amount of lube seeping from around the piston where it entered the caliper. It pulled back in via capillary action as soon as let off the lever a bit. Asked Hope, they said that's normal. It's this side of the seal, nothing is leaking past the seal.
But also, as noted by others, the bottle of Hunters leaks like fuck on it's own on a shelf, and I have no idea why

My insoles definitely needed to be heated above 80-90c, so a boot dryer likely isn't hot enough. Also, even if they're hot, the insoles aren't going to deform unless something pushes them into a different shape
