My cousin has put me in charge of building him a bike, or finding one for sale. He's got a budget of up to £500ish and ideally would prefer a whole bike ready to go so he doesn't need to tweak anything too much, ie. it saves me doing lots of mechanical stuff when I haven't got a lot of time.
So, looking for something fixed, 56-58cm, wotcha got?

London Fields was absolute Hell on Earth last weekend, and it wasn't even that warm. It must've been fucking awful this weekend.
Saw some guy in blue wearing sunglasses, red and yellow bike, turning onto Wick Road from Leyton direction yesterday. I was looking gormless, suddenly woke up when he gave a very cheery "Good morning!"
And to you sir, and to you!

Same.
I hate dogs though. Something about being bitten in the elbow whilst sledging, getting knocked over by a Great Dane when you're 4 years old, a labrador cumming on your leg on a Welsh beach, and next door's paralysed Alsatian dragging its limp body towards you very slowly in a zombie fashion that kinda puts me off ever wanting to see another dog again.
Plus I don't want to pick up shit in a plastic bag.

They've always been mega helpful and polite when I've been in there, which isn't all that often. Most of the time I've not even bought anything but just been asking advice and they've always helped me out.
When my bike got nicked, John happily let me put up posters, said he'd do me a discount on a new wheelset if I needed it, plus remembered who I was when I went in weeks later and gave me an old pair of risers that were knocking around out the back.
Also, Ted was super quick when rewelding my frame for me. Emailed me in the morning saying it'd be done in 3hours so I could pick up that afternoon. Stoked. -
Anyone had a modern geared grey Bianchi stolen recently? Saw someone riding one in E9 today who just didn't look right on it. Mostly it was the clipless pedals on it but the guy was wearing desert boots and seemed to be struggling.
Who knows might be legit, but thought I'd post it here just in case. -

Without getting into a who is more valid than whom type tit for tat bullshit squabble....Maybe that is you being ill informed, 92 has the lowest count of 'rich' in the area? and the highest count of people that are 'artists' ? like recognised hang on the wall artists? before all the wannabees moved in there had always been 92...and a few others at the peanut factory...
We have been dug out since before the 'art tourist gold rush' that has occured over the last 4 years...? sounds like you are a little concerned people might think you are trusta so you bring that up first?
this place was always target number one for theft as it was the only place inhabited?...there was no one else to steal from so thay always came here first.whatever.....this was about bike theft and not who was more eligible to get ripped of because of their social strata?
Woah, I think we've got slightly different definitions of 'trustafarian'. I meant it in a 'if I'm nice to other people, they'll be nice to me' way, ie. trusting. I didn't mean it in a 'daddy gives me money' way at all. No, I'm definitely no trusta in either definition.
My point was, don't leave your bike where it can been seen/nicked.

Hey tim it was 92, we have been really really on it lately with regard to the doors, so the corridors have now become exclusive to us and not open to all and sundry. It used to be so on top it was ridiculous, you couldn't not be ultravigilant, we had the lead stolen out of the toilets...(though that may have been a resident....;/...;D...who knows?)
Anyway the last 6 months have been really good, nothing has gone missing. and then last week someone stole a nice 3x3 roccoco stylee mirror out of the bathroom, and then the door has been left open...maybe 1-2 hours in 6 months and the bike goes missing...which I know is just bad luck...however, that means whoever was doing the random rounds, just to see if it's open has started again, maybe watch out round olso house and near main yard?...
it's annoying 'cause I was just going to start doing it up for my mate, it was really original (apart from the wheels) and was nice to ride. It just need polishing and greasing.whats more annyoing is that we are going to have to start bolting everything down again and lock our doors, and hide all the useful stuff we hoard in the corridors.
That really sucks man, always gutting to have anything nicked.
To be honest though, that place never seems all that secure, seems there's a few too many trustafarians there so when stuff does get nicked it's not really surprising. Maybe that's just me being cynical, but places like that I would never leave any of my shit in sight.

Mine became very sticky after about the same amount of time. Even managed to chin myself really hard pulling at it to open it. Spray some WD40 into it to get it open. I put a very very thin spreading of grease on the U-bend ends and it's fine now.
