Firstly only a thief or someone stupid would have sold it for so cheap in the first place.. Secondly assuming the seller is just stupid who cares if it was flipped.
Not really. This place used to be a community where you could enjoy a good bargain, now its full of people who just buy stuff to put on ebay or IG. If you would've been here longer than 2 minutes and actually contributed to this place you might have just realised this.
Secondly, the seller probably isn't stupid. They obviously knew what they were building up back when new and probably just wanted to give someone a good deal, which would've been the norm before 'fixies' became mainstream on the internet circa late 2000's.
I don't sleep with any spanners or wrenches, they live somewhere else.. am I doing it wrong?
Peace out 'brother'.

Going to bump this long standing thread. While I eventually managed to sort myself out with a Columbus Ego my best mate is looking for something too and need to get it done for his birthday in May.
Brief as follows -
Tubing -
Max, Ego, MXL or anything aero profiled or different but has to be steel - No alu or carbon thanks. Even reynolds 631 with the fat dt would potentially work. Can be either road or cyclocross style.
There was an amazing yellow Sigma (roberts) cross frame with straight forks on ebay I loved but forgot to bid on it last year and been kicking myself since.
Size -
Top Tube - 56cm ctc max . 55cm ctc would be ideal
Seat Tube - anything around 56cm ctc give or take a bitDetails -
Fillet brazed preferred. 27.2mm Seatpost.
1" Threaded Max fork straight blades ideally but I have a spare if it comes with curved fork.
700c front and rear
BSC Threads ideally but not against anything else really.. even french threading is fine.
Tyre clearance needs to be at least 28mmOrigin -
Any brand, country or style tbh.Paint -
Anything works, the more ratty the better as I assume will be cheaper. The plan is to respray anyways.
Budget -
Up to £350Please attach photos to replies or via DM along with prices. I am based in London and happy to pay for post if its needed.
Thanks

Still on the lookout for this -
My pal confessed to me that she lost her bike in the summer.
Its a Ribble made from Reynolds 653 with Cinelli lugs, painted in a slightly pearlescent white. Black Ribble decals on seat tube and silver on the downtube. Drive side internal routing.
Shimano 105 headset, bit notchy from what I remember, Cinelli 1a Stem to Giro Di Italia bars I think. Light Grey bartape. White hoods Shimano 105.
Full Shimano 7 speed 1055 groupset from what I remember, downtube shifters etc. Silver Mavic MA Rims and standard black tyres. Triple 105 crankset.
Apparently my friend left it outside a Panda Oriental Islington, between Clissold and Newington Green early september while on shrooms... le sigh.
Here it is before we switched the bar tape up

If anyone has picked it up I would happily compensate them for a safe return.
Alternatively if you have seen it around or for sale please shoot me a pm.
Thanks

Plastic is prob more solid for moving but if you are against that I would rec something more like the ones in the link. They have side walls that are folded in and are a bit more solid. I have a couple and I've lined them with extra cardboard on the insides - bottom and sides along with wrapping in clear tape to protect a bit from any minor liquid damage

What @sbbohr said basically. I would suggest getting ebay to give you a call back and explain your situation. It isn't as one sided as people make it out to be but this is only the case is you are clear from your descriptions and photos. Speaking to a human has usually helped clear any issues I have had. From reinstating £1 listing fees on an item when a buyer pulls out or when stuff I've ordered is clearly not as described and the seller is being a C*nt

Are there any roots reggae collectors on here?
Been collecting since summer this year and trying to visit most record shops when I can. I mainly buy UK label singles which would've originally been sold with their respective company sleeve, usually beautifully designed in various styles with some great fonts. For me it helps finding the records in the collection and my slight ocd means I spend a good few hours looking for a record in the right condition with the matching sleeve.
I find that when I've gone into certain record shops the owners/workers get proper pissy when I ask if I can change the sleeves on 12" singles for a matching sleeve from another mismatched record or even when I ask to buy just the sleeves, to a matching record I have at home, sometimes offering a good few quid when the record is sub £10 and for them to keep the record.
It's got to the point where I need to ask if I am being unreasonable for asking? or is it just the classic old grumpy man mentality you find in certain bike shops too?
If anyone on here has a record shop or has a big collection of spare sleeves then lmk. I've got a small list with what I am looking for and happy to pay if the condition is good
