wicked! i have done a couple of global wanderings myself and you will not regret it.

what sort of bike are you taking? the logistics of getting buses / trains / flights with a bike are going to be slightly tricky.

perhaps a folding bike (airnimal springs to mind) or packing a bike into a box / bag everytime. but that will be a major hassle.

alternatively a proper tourer with bike mounted luggage, but that means riding most of the way and just getting flights where necessary...

i am interested to hear what your plans are. what sections are you planning to cycle?

you will have an amazing time... i wish i had a bike with me when i was away... i hired wherever possible. always the best way to see cities and also the best way to get out in the middle of nowhere and really explore.

Only complaint is the cider, then beer, then vodka ran out... Luckily I had my hipflask of brandy :-) And I think there was a re-load of vodka too.
