Commuter dude on his super blinged out carbon Planet X with TT bars and Carbon Zipps front and rear, looking like an idiot on York Way this morning.
Seriously, who the fuck commutes on full carbon in central london? good luck with those winter potholes mate.
Spotted a man last week coming out of his office near convent garden in khaki shorts and a t-shirt riding a pink carbon TT (quintana roo?) bike at rush hour.
I actually like this. Okay, it sucks to be them, but they probably have the money to piss away anyway. These are the type of people who drive Lambo's and Ferrari's around the cobbled, roadhumped, traffic congested streets, too. It's their money, remember.
I mean, it's harmless, infact, it's good news. I worked in a carclub for 2 years and the most annoying thing from (male) car-owners, were comments along the lines of "My car represents me", "I earn enough to drive better" etc.
If this is filtering into bikes, we're the better off for it, no? If it stops him racing around in a lambo i'm all for it, even if it does mean excessive bike-envy.
Besides, if more city-boys buy high-performance kit, which undoubtedly breaks easily, they are buying a lot more of it than would usually be shifted. Eventually, that'll bring the price down.
It's win win.

Cheers for this thread! I am looking for 28 x 1 1/2" rims, don't really wanna spend a lot as this is going to be a bit of a beater (found the old roadster frame in the canal, frame: beautiful condition. Everything else: rusted thru)
Apparently Simpson Cycles stock them at around £20 each. But I am still shopping around so anything you've come across let me know!
Also what's the deal with brakes on these steel rims, where can I source some new pads?

MOC, now bearded, ignoring me completely at Elephant and Castle station- I even said "Hi Mike", suit of invisibility FTW!
Then City Gent cycling up Lordship Lane, pulling his right cleat out and cycling left footed for a small while, again my suit of invisibility worked flawlessly.
I'm doing this a lot recently. I can hear the most annoying creak and it isn't the BB. I think Shimano have let me down again. Time ATACS for my birthday.

My little brother has been using my track pump as push on pull off and it's a lever system. Meaning he has completely fucked the seal. Unless I have threaded valves, it will not stay on past 60psi. Really really annoying.
So, anyone have any idea where to get new pumpheads for a Wrench Force track pump?

I've used this setup in my parents home in Cyprus (where they use a british electricity setup, even the plugs are the same)to much success! Using same equipment in my London flat didn't work as well. No idea why, just kept dropping connections, constant having to reboot hardware.
In the end i ran a 20m CAT5 from one side of the house to another and just stuck a wifi access point on the end. SO i wasn't tripping over I ran the cables under the floor. But I LIKE ripping up floors, sometimes you find relics from previous tenants and it can be sort of an adventure.

How did this go?
Have 40hole SA hub and cannot for the life of me find 40hole 27" rims in alloy.
