This is the most beautiful place I have ever ridden. We rode to the YHA in darkness and met quite a few gigantic stag on the way.

I had a friend who was worried as they have a relatively low maximum rider/bike weight but I've never had an issue.

A plus with the hunts is you can super easily change the axles.

I have the Hunts. They're ace. I've had them for 2-3 years and they've taken fully loaded bikes across Wales and Scotland, on and off road and I've never had a buckle or anything. In fact they are still virtually pristine.
They currently reside on an Arkose 2019.

I learnt early on that as well as feeding myself I was feeding a whole lot of wildlife. As long as you win over all :)
I don't own a green house but being able to establish plants before you plant them is always best. Even if the slugs do get to them the plant should still survive.
I actually used netting for the first time in 6 years this year. Purely to keep the cabbage white butterfly away from my brassicas. Can't wait for a bumper crop.

I have considered these in the past and would be interested how you get on with them.

The only other thing you can do is keep a super tidy plot but it's normally in vain at allotment sites as they'll just crawl in from someone else's plot.

These are just human behaviours and not exclusively choice of transport based.
As you say it's definitely a case of monkey-see-monkey-do. It reminds of that video of the all cars being driven on the pavement to get passed some road works (until a dude on a bike stops them, and gets an earful for his trouble).
