... on Edd its saying that the front needs 295.2 and rear needs 297.4 - so do I get both or somewhere in the middle bc the nipples will make up for it?
get 296 and 298. standard 12mm nipples should be fine....
Just to be clear do I need 2 different length spokes, 1 for front and 1 for rear?

I've UTFS and can't find anything that deals with this - if there is and I've missed it pls link and let the thread die
I'm going to build my first set of wheels and need to choose spokes.
- On-one hubs 32H
- Ritchy Vantage Comps 32H
(so a bugget build)
I know should get double butted.... Ideally wanted black (but would rather have better silver spokes than average black ones)
DT's are the best - but for a 2 x 32h wheel set they seem to come in at £30 or so.......I really didn't want to spend that much.
What are the other options? - ACI? Sapim?
Basically what are the best value for money spokes?
Also on Edd its saying that the front needs 295.2 and rear needs 297.4 - so do I get both or somewhere in the middle bc the nipples will make up for it?
Any help/advice appreciated - esp. from ppl with experience with wheel builds

+1 to all Ed said.
and...
...there are always brooks on ebay - some really old ones which are bound to be broken in... if you're really that bothered buy one of those.
The only way you're ever going to get a definitive ans it to buy one and see.
I know they cost allot of money so you want to be sure, but at some point you're just going to have to make a descsion yourself and buy.
All the blurb says the aged is softer, some ppl say they get increasingly soft as they get lighter (is black is harder honey softer).
IMO you should get the aged, bc your concerned about comfort and that way you'll never think to yourself "*this big hard black one is hurting my arse... I wish I was sitting on something a bit softer...:( *"

I've got a campag chorus double crankset c1991.
I need to work out what BB spindle length I need and I only have an JIS BB.*
Please can I borrow, rent, or buy on the cheap a English threaded ISO BB (or one that will fit a campag crank) so I can determin what chainline I'll need.
So I don't really care on condition (as long as threads aren't fucked), or length.
Cheers.
*NB - measuring BB, installing and remeasuring is the only way I can think of for certain to work out the right spindle length needed - if anyone has anther idea - pls let me know

Do you mean 'custom' as in "Ashleyh's Bike Rules OK" or do you mean actualy replacing your old decals with the same?
If its the later UTFS (hint H Lloyde)...
*... *If its the former, then again UTFS and you'll find somone on here who can cut vin'l decals.
But again UTFS!!! - so many really, really useful threads on this - read them all first!
-
-
Cheers for that - I'm asking bc everything I've found is £40 (which is a bit steep for me)
