I've got one here... well I say "here" but there's no picture so that was actuly a free plug.
Its a black Alex rim, machined sidewall, black spokes, silver hub (probably sealed).
it came of a low-mid range trek road bike. QR, prob radial, but I'm not sure.
£20 pickup late tonight from Angel or Sat.
PM me to meet up.

I like drops too and after trying bull horn / aero bars, the only benefit I can see over drops is you have a better hold on the bars when mimicing the hoods possition.
Always wanted to try the noodles, but haven't got around to it.
At the mo I'm using a cheap set of modern compact drops like these:

...but using a couple of sizes too big. They're perfect for my fixed in london, bc you've got as much (if not more) room as you'd have with flats or risers, plus on the hoods, and the drops.
Not sure how they'd feel if I did a really long ride, but that's what my road bike's for ;)
BLB have loads of those Bontrager ones out back, and charged me a fiver. Well worth picking a set up to try out. Then if you like them the fsa ones seem to get good reviews.

I've never spent much time in the ergo ones, but I like the way the compacts bring the hoods in closer... which means they might not be great if you're really long - maybe someone else can advise?

Some items sold and lists updated. Thanks for bearing with me. Items will be posted tomorrow.
Just by way of some further sales-patter:
the specialized tryes are a really good deal if anyone's after some lo profile tyres on the cheap, don't turn your nose up at them just bc google gives you nothing :0
Also the Mavic 650 tub rim is very nice indeed, would be a good match for a CD/grey open pro on the rear of your lo-pro.
Also I have a cheapish Alex rim quick release front I prolly don't really need, so if anyone needs a bugget front wheel in vgc... say £20
Will try and get the remaining photos up tonight.

^that's not right, is it? Surely if you went 4x on a 36h rim/hub, you'd get spoke heads partially obscured?
Depends on the build. Usually high flange is fine, low flange isn't. But it depends, BMX wheels have short spokes, so you can get away with 4x on a LF. This is because;
Its not about the number of crosses but the angle that the spoke leaves the hub...
-
Someone told me once than...Is this true?
Generalsimple rule is bla...bla...bla...idiots ans...bla..bla...bla...Its not about the number of crosses but the angle that the spoke leaves the hub....This just happens to be around 3x for 32 and 36. Which are the most common used. 2x would actually be better for a 24 or 28 spoked wheel.
...^ You're right. If anyone wants the real in depth ans. to all things wheelbuilding, read Jost Brands Art of Wheelbuilding. I've tried and came to the conclusion that you basically want the most crosses and holes/9 = ans. :s

Prob not meant to, but as I enjoy perving on the polo threads I thought I'd post here insted of in my sale thread. Ive got a 36h low flange miche front hub, QR. Ideally youd replace the bearings, but it still rolls so could be a cheap replacement. £3.50
Also do any of you guys play with Salmon Child / Oli? He lent me some aero bars and last time i tried to get in touch got no response.

It's hardly by the by when the discussion point is exactly that.
I challenge anyone to be given £200 and put together a bike that is generally accepted as porn worthy by the great people of this forum.
Do the same with £4000 and you would get many nice bikes (plus some horrid ones!). Agree that you can't buy taste, but you also can't buy very nice bikes or parts cheaply.
Yes I agree that would not be easy, but given the number of classic bikes on this page and the parts that get shown it's not impossible.
Like I quoted before:
.... This thread should be a place for bikes that are either so purely functional that by nature of being so high performance, so good at what they are intended for the aesthetic becomes a secondary outcome of the build or built from components that go so well together to they create a beautiful bike.
Cost should not be a factor. How much things cost is 'by the by' (as I meant it) because it is not a factor in making something porn-worthy.
