My first thought were these Profile ones, but it's only a tenner more for these DA ones.
Looks to me like the Profile ones are £50 a pair, while the Shimano ones are £60 a side (or, if you follow one of the other Madison links, £130 a pair. No, that maths doesn't work). Does that affect your choice?

Sure you CAN, but this thread is actually about Locks That Work. Not locks that might be okay, maybe I hope.
I had a Klein mountain bike., and it was stolen when I had used 2 cheap u-locks. If your lock has value, get a lock from the list on the first page of this thread. If you don't care about the bike, leave it unlocked. Its the same as buying 2 cheap locks. Its your call.
This simply isn't true - don't be a cock.
All locking is about risk reduction, not elimination - someone with power tools and time can get through any lock.
Of course a good lock, used well, is better than a crap lock used badly. Two cheap locks, used well, will deter a lot of potential attempts, and resist some actual attempts. Whether they're better or worse than one good lock is something I'm not qualified to answer.
Me, I go for one good lock which doesn't appear on your list and that you've dissed here based on a review by folk who obviously didn't grasp how it was put together. I realise it won't prevent all thefts, but it reduces the risk to a point where I'm happy to accept it.

Edwardes in Camberwell have got a small red racer with 650c wheels on their wall at the moment - saw it the other day but didn't take note of spec or price. Probably over budget, but might be worth giving them a call.
Decathlon are knocking out remaining stock of the red Triban 3 for £250 - smallest sizes have 650c wheels and would probably work. Several friends have one - great value for a new bike at that price and a good ride, though obviously s/h will give you a better spec.
Two small tourers in YACF classifieds recently for about £200, one Orbit and one Roberts, both good spec and bargains at that price. Orbit is flat bar, can't remember about Roberts. (If interested, you need to register to see ads.)

Size? Price? Only complete bikes?
If frameset OK, FrancisSedgemore has a Surly and (I think) a Tricross he's looking to shift - probably suit a six foot or so rider.

I used these guys - http://www.morganmerchant.eu/ - to send a bike to Ireland just before Xmas. Up to 30kg, just over twenty quid. Good service as far as I'm concerned, though their standard insurance only covers up to £100.
Looks like they'll offer the same service to France for £20.49. You need to be a bit careful with their max size - I cut down a standard bike box to 105x75x20cm which works out as exactly their limit.
Good to meet you too - I was just quite in awe of how spinny you managed to be. I'm normally reasonably spinny, or try to be, but even though I was doing about 90rpm when we were talking about it you made me look as though I was grinding my way along. (And you were claiming to be slow, too - that was not exactly the truth ...)
