Yeah, it's like a rotting plant matter tombola. The stand has rusted through in a few spots so we're going to sleeve it with something and get it up to the allotment I think. Already filled our pallet-cubed compost bin from clearing the plot, time to build no.2

Our co-workers have a slightly fucked compost bin that looks like a cross between a water butt and an inversion table. Would that be one of these hot compost bins do we reckon?

We're still digging out tonnes of broken glass and plastic bags, but today brought some pretty visible progress which feels good. Should have a few bits in to overwinter soon.

I copied this the other day as we had a load of misc veg on the way out – the stock made an excellent gravy, and I used the mega-roasted veggies as the base for a pie filling. totally awesome

I've just picked up one of the 4L Racing collection Apidura frame bags – reduced storage vs my previous OG Apidura bag (maybe 1L?), but it definitely seems to be designed with an eye on knee rub, and I still manage to fit the same old stuff in there

When I’ve worked with them in the past theyve always ringfenced stock that the supplier wants rid of, put up the flash sale thing, then buy whatever they sold. The only stock they end up holding (in that version) is returns. I think it’s been a bit different in some cases for a while now, eg when they’ve had Endura stuff at full price. They usually pick up stock at less than landed cost to the supplier who just wants to liquidate it back into cash, hence the big discounts

I changed all the driveside seals on my Triumph just after I got it, and it was concerning just how little interference was involved with the interference fit. Maybe that's why they demand that the rider drain the oil before just about any maintenance task: it's usually already drained anyway

I've been getting this on narrower (19mm ID) rims and 38/35mm G-Ones lately. Fully deflated the tyre generally jumps off a little bit but always goes back up again without issue. Kind of annoying though as I suspect this is the reason for losing 20ish psi overnight. Have tried both more and less tape, no luck.

For what it's worth, doing that usually results in a totally new customer account with that retailer rather than just tricking the discount code checker or whatever. For Wiggle, go nuts, but as someone who has worked in ecomm for small businesses for a while it's fucking annoying. My personal brand of payback for that is that loyal customers get early access, better discounts in promo times, etc, and this is based on spend and profitability. Anyone playing the new email trick will never end up on my good list, and neither will anyone who returns loads of stuff or only buys things from clearance. Its amazing how many customers I have come across who think they've played a huge part in building [brand] up to whatever it is, but in fact may have cost the business money overall.

I wouldn't stay in them all day at work, but not a problem on the bike or wandering around outside if it's not baking hot anyway

I've not crashed in them, but they have some pretty convincing video footage and the fit is decent. Their standard leggings fit under jeans a little easier than the slightly cheaper option from Merlin, though I went for those in the end, purely based on price

Oh yeah for sure, which is why I mentioned removing the bindweed first. TBH there's going to need to be a fair few additions of top soil or something to level things out anyway, and I've been recommended by a plot neighbour to add some height to any beds due to 'damp' (I imagine this was a nice way of saying 'flooding')

Our site has a rotovator for hire at £10 a go. We’ve got some bindweed and lumps of concrete to remove first, but is that something I should definitely do?

Just had our first morning at our new plot, given a shed by the Association which is pretty sweet. Also spent a nice time playing guess-the-tree – looks like we have elderberry, quince, plum/damson and an apple tree.

Loads of nettles etc to clear, but apparently the plot was dug over not that long ago so shouldn't be too terrible a job.

All the above is definitely putting me off no-dig for now, think we'll just get some really basic stuff on the go. V encouraging to see how much success our neighbours are having with grapes, squash, etc

I suspect it's related to the quantity of dungarees in our household – the seal is torn up in a couple of places. I superglued one successfully but we're now missing a bit and water squirts out of the bottom of the door sad face

Would I be foolish to attempt to change the door seal on a (3 year old) Seimens washing machine? YT videos look a bit complex but we called someone and they started saying the seal is 'unusual' and would be £120, when all the evidence is to the contrary and £60
