still cant get the light to work!
i know the tire is on the wrong way. i will turn the wheel around in the morning and give a tidy up, tweak ect.... it looks a little shabby around the edges, i didn't polish anything. i think it adds to the charm....
picture of the cabling and the finished bike. will take some better pictures when i go out tomorrow for a test ride.

Veaslius's Longstaff is a thing of beauty. saw it last week. such a great build.
i ended up going for a route over the mudguards and under the center-pulls in-between the gap, quite hidden, direct, clean-ish and simple....
only major issue, i mounted and re-wired the light and it no longer works.... can't see why. looking for online technical plans of vintage dynamo / light set up with no luck..... anyone have a clue, ideas or pointers? its driving me mad.
other than that, i am done. will take Pat for a spin in the morning, really looking forward to that.

a little bit more progress. had to do a few boring things: chop down mudguard bolts, tighten BB, take bars off other bike.... going to re-grease the wheels, chain and cable this beast up.... doubt i am going to use the front rack for this one, seems out of place. next steps may have to be later tonight, real life duties call.

This is looking lovely, really like the cranks. Horn would be too silly. This build is crying out for a chromed, silver seatpost!
thanks, i think the chainset makes it.....
i just gave my only chrome 27.2 to my friend for his tweed run build.... i quite like the black. i don't want it to look too smart.....

it is totally fine Ed . i could have gone for the 56T, but think that would have been over kill.
i purchased a TA chainset from Vince (another great forum member) as a back up. stedlocks chaqin ring arrived today, so the TA will go on my King of Mercia the TA. has a 50T ring on it, so will swap it over if it turns out i'm a wimp.....

You're welcome ;0)
I have an original cyclist bugle from the turn of the century that you could borrow.... It's worn around the neck, and the leader on a group ride would tootle it to indicate which direction to take at a junction.... I toot for left, 2 for right etc... Or something!
do you think this would pass? are you on the run?

Vello: just found this! what a beauty. this is yours right? pictures of it built?

and great restoration job on this. we will have to do a forum tandem ride in the summer. there is enough of us now.

i'm also a member of the tandem club(sticker on the rear fender)......hope i don't need my mudguards for the tweed run......sun would make me very happy.

should have said, its not polished, but all the threads and bearings have been cleaned and re-greased, its running really well......
its a bit wet outside, so a couple of pictures from inside. i added a rolled up wax jacket with essential tools. hope i don't have to use either.... always be prepared.
