This turned out to be a pretty helpful post… thank you.
I went out to re-check the cassette and it has 11sp printed all over it. I count the sprockets and find there are only 10, causing me to scratch my head until I find the missing sprocket hiding another bike. 🤷♂️
Mystery averted, no need for new shifters… just some cables and I’m done.

I haven't ridden my CX bike in about 2 years, but I've slowly been accumulating parts to replace the destroyed drivetrain.
I have bought:
- SRAM RIVAL1 RD (1x11)
- SRAM 11sp cassette
- 1x chainring
However, I was just looking at fitting them and suddenly realised that my current shifters are SRAM RIVAL 10sp (hydraulic). In for a penny, in for a pound, it looks like I now need new shifters...
PX has a sale on, are these the shifters I need? The PX site seems to suggest that these are just the shifters/brake levers, but Wiggle seems to sell them along with brake callipers: SRAM RIVAL 1 and SRAM RIVAL 22. Are the new 11 speed shifters (from planet-x) compatible with my existing 10sp Rival calipers?

I’m just replacing the FUBAR drivetrain on my cross bike.
Is it ok to fit superstar components raptor 1x chainrings “backwards”?
The rings clearly have a front (machined) side and a back ( smooth) side. However, chainline, and my frame’s integrated chain catcher mean that it would be better to fit the chainring on the spider’s inner position, and the countersunk bolt holes mean that they need to be “flipped” so the smooth side faces out. I can’t see any reason why this would be an issue, but it’s a few years since I last worked on a bike so just wanted to check.

A friend of mine is a photographer who mainly specialises in events. He brought a camera along to our wedding and just took pictures for fun and we preferred his shots to the £££ award winning official photographer that we had hired. He also shot my dad’s wedding and was recently hired to do another wedding in London for a couple who explicitly didn’t want traditional wedding style photography in favour of a more “journalistic” low key style.

Is that another octopus on @Tijmen ‘s bike? Is that your thing now?
Both look really amazing. Sad I can’t come to Berlin to see them in person.

Yeah, I think I'd pay for it for myself since I too read in the dark every night. But my wife has only ever been an occasional bedtime reader so this would need to be revolutionary.
On the one hand, I feel a bit bad getting her a lesser version than I'd get for myself, on the other, I just discovered that they sell anti-blue light screen protectors for a few quid which may be a partial solution (even if the reviews are bad).

My wife complains that the lack of a backlight on her ancient kindle is the primary reason she no longer reads, so I'd like to get her a new one for mothers day.
The current basic kindle has a built-in 4 LED backlight, while the current paperwhite has a 17 LED backlight with adjustable warm light. How much better is this warm backlight on the paperwhite and is it worth the additional £45?

I suppose you could take the daily rate of calls calculated over a 24 hour period (say 1000 calls) then divide this by 24 to get an hourly average 41.6 per hour. If your line is actually only open 8 hours per day then you could claim to always experience an actual call volume (125 per hour) above the average .
That would be a clearly misleading misuse of the numbers but I’ve seen worse. But probably more likely that no one actually cares what the stupid message says.
No idea but some young lad in full Trinity kit has ridden past my door in Oxfordshire at least 3 times in the last few weeks. I’m assuming a local talent but don’t know who.
