Out of curiosity, what's the difference between the road and track rings?

The only difference is tooth profiling....trach rings don't have any as the teeth only need to hold the chain on, and not let it shift easily.....you can still use road rings ona track bike though if you want to....

Er, you're not going to get charged any import tax on a seatpost...

It's really only for items which are about $100+ which you need to be careful about import tax.

I bought a fabulous bargain on ebay.com a few years ago....a US Team Bianchi track bike with full dura ace track group for about £400 inc delivery (dented but straight, if you know what I mean)....when it arrived it came with a £250 customs bill that had to be paid ON THE SPOT......OUCH!

They've been kept in a drawer for years, many of the unused or very limited use but some have storage marks or grime on them. In every case, the teeth are in good condition and I will give them a quick wipe over with WD40 before packing them so they'll look spanky when they arrive!

I mailed the seller earlier, seemed pretty genuine to me. Think it is a girl selling her boyfriends / ex's bike by the sound of it. If I was in London I'd be all over it.

Edit: she said the cranks are miche, confirmed the hubs are record but said she didn't know if it had tubs or clinchers

I can confirm the tyres are my very nice old tubs...running on Fiamme Hard Silver rims (I think, although could have been Mavic GEL280/GL330, can't remember....but nice wheels all the same, tied and soldered if I remember right)......I bought that lovely Syncros stem of Jake Thackray, a 90's cyclo-cross star! You'll find it's got Cinelli 65's on it too....still with my purple splash tape!!!

That Ribble was MINE and it was NICKED!!!!!! It was nicked by a postman who was delivering it to someone who bought it off me....I got screwed by Parcelforce over it too as the insurance cover didn't cover the full loss...the guy who'd bought it and I shared the cost difference....it was a nightmare!!!!! about 3 years ago.....
