My bike took ages to start this morning. 2005 varadero 1000. 48k miles on the clock. Yesterday was fine, took it out for a little blast but this morning it took ages to get going, to the point where I thought the battery was going to go, then at the last second it caught and started.
I turned it off and it started again straight away. Maybe just damp?
We had some rain last night....I've got new plugs and an oil change on the to do list but I'm such a worrier about getting stuck somewhere, if don't have the confidence in the bike I just won't ride it.

Old bike day here today, finally got all the fairing etc back on and secure, managed to stop a load of rattling. Only forgot two bolts as well lol.
Next thing is sort out the cloudy scratched screen, at least until something else comes along and I trade this in.
I'm hankering after a moto guzzi, but they're a bit rich for my pocket.... -

We don't all have a background that allows easy passage into the highest levels of the civil service.
I think we disagree on 'the wider good', I can't see evidence of him trying to create a greener, fairer, more equal world.
Lots of people spend their lives in the public sector without getting the chance to actually vote in parliament, and using that chance to "consistently vote against raising welfare benefits at least in line with prices" seems like someone not in pursuit of anything good.
Imho anyway. -

Finally put the motorbike back together (I was fixing the rattly fairing, job seems done) and thought I'd pop a pair of garish new bars on. Took ages in the end because essentially I'm a shit mechanic that never thinks things through. Well, turns out the bars are a bit lower and now the control cables and handguards hit the fairing so I can't put the steering lock on....

I have this same issue with a project strat that I put together, I made a body and bought a cheap neck but never finished it properly, just screwed it together and played it. It's nice to noodle about on but I have the itch for something new, but realistically no one is going to want the one I made (and it's perfect to leave around the kids), and I have a self enforced no buying unless selling rule....

Great, that does sound like the culprit. Got some new plugs on the way as they're due to be replaced in the service schedule, so I'll source a battery too. I can't believe how much iridium plugs are!
Definitely don't want to push anywhere, it's a right lump.
