Is that off the silverlink in Hackney wick?
(Old post to reply to I know)
Know Tiser. One of the best attitudes towards everything ever.
I know a few writers. A lot of writers are cocks. On the whole it's a bit self absorbed ego driven bullshit. (Massive generalisation)It's in Debnams Road, Bermondsey which regulary gets used for film / tv location works including the film Green Street.

But I have never really respected sprinters. I admire the way they can kick out such terrific speed, but sprinters are often lazy, conceited, temperamental and introverted, whereas the real rouleurs, climbers and plain common grafters are generally more friendly, outgoing and relaxed

I went for probably my longest ride to date on Sunday with a local club covering a total of 37.5 miles with a puncture stop and a cafe break. I had 2 teas before I set out, 2 teas at the cafe and nothing else i.e. no food nor a water bottle on the bike.
My only issue was towards the end of the ride when particularly my left (weaker) leg started feeling tired.
Yesterday and this morning, however, I've been really hungry. Much more than usual. Does this sound about right?
I probably should have taken a bit of food and a drink with me and, Tommy, I spotted dried, sliced bananas in Lidl's the other day. -

The peds have right of way thing is something that I have heard mentioned quite often, not seen anything legislative to back it up mind.
They do have right of way in certain circumstances but certainly not carte blanche to leap out into the road anyplace and anytime. A quick but little known example is peds have right of way if they are already crossing a road that you turn into.
+1 to JonoMarshall re. speed limits being precisely that - a maximum speed, not a must do speed.
Also to reiterate, these girls were steeping across a small gap between the front of a van and a road island (pedestrian refuge). I also put a small portion of blame on them but nowhere near as much as some have inferred. I tried to find a picture of the location but google maps have not photographed that part of the street yet.

WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU PLAYING AT?
It was the middle of the rush hour.
You were overtaking a queue of stationary, I repeat stationary, traffic.
You were heading for a gap of about 2'6" between a panel van and a road island.
That van was in front of 3 other large panel vans all of which hugely restricted your view of pedestrians crossing between them.
It was wet.
You were doing the best part of 20mph.
You ran straight into 2 young girls trying to cross the road!Yes I know the girls should have looked before stepping out but they were heading for a road island literally one pace in front of them.
Yes they were partly to blame BUT your riding was much, much more the cause of your accident.I hope the girl who had injured her leg had nothing more than a sprain and I hope her friend was uninjured.
I hope the only injury you sustained was dented pride.
I trust you have the girls details and will send them flowers. To all - When filtering past traffic, especially stationary traffic, SLOW DOWN! Ride only as fast as it's safe to do so. That speed should be a speed at which you can safely stop should you need / be forced to do so.
Always but always expect the unexpected!

There was ice on the lake in Danson Park recently so I'm inclined to opt for totally wrong.
