Guaranteed the fork will flex and allow that tyre to hit the frame under any real load, it'll even be dodgy on hill climbs I reckon.

no, noprobs with that fork. i've had it for many years. i used to run it on my other frame with even less clearance (could not even stick a creadit card in between the tire and the dt). rode it for about 3 year around boston. just don't to jumps and other crazy shit.
btw, i've heard about FRUITs little story with his COLNAGO. ouch.
