Bridge reinforcements are pure cosmetical.
They tend to crack in the neck/edges.
It's better not to use them, if you care about durability.
If you prefer looks over quality, then use reinforcement plates and solder properly.i hear you –
that somec is not concerned with cosmetics/aesthetics.

Doesn't equal out the stress. Standard lacing pulls the hub both ways so the only reason to only have a half radial wheel is because you can't run a full radial rear wheel. Pointless imo, radial just increases the chances of the hub breaking.
+1 on that^
but 1/2radial rear looks so f*ing radical,
think i'ma build me one like dat next timephil wood flanges can take radial abuse.
