diable
@diable by London brick I am assuming you mean London Stocks? Is this an old wall or a new one? If it is old the mortar is likely to be lime and the bricks of variable hardness. This is because the garden walls were the last thing built on the house and the bricks were burnt in a clamp, a beehive shaped stack of bricks which was set light to and burnt for a week. When the fire was finished the bricks in the middle had fused together (you sometimes see these used for front garden walls in dodgy areas like Tulse Hill and Crouch End) the first usable bricks First hards were extremely hard but variable in shape hence were left till last, the next bricks Second Hards were the best quality and were reserved for the front of the house the next third hards were variable in baking so tended to be used on the back of the house on on the garden walls. If it is a new wall the bricks could be any hardness so your still better off using an expansion fixing rather than a screw in fixing which may or may not fix depending on the hardness of the brick.
Thanks for the advice on the May J I had been wondering why I could only get spinage or lettuce to grow well. And of course pumpkins in the summer. -
What are you bolting into? Those bolts are for aerated concrete blocks and tend to fail suddenly. I used 150mm Frame fixings on the fence pictured below and they have stood up to a lot of wind

Hmm where do I start?
First that webpage is utter crap it tells you nothing of any value.
Second does your wife really want a bike? Are you sure I would take a look at the bikes for sale pages on this site the number of people who have made bikes for their girlfriends is innumerable
Third if she does wan a bike take her to a decent bike shop and give the bike there a try. -
Hey Tim mate I do not mind you using my pictures but do us a favour and credit me!

@hoefla sounds like they are a bit shallow though the wind and the mild winter mean they would tend to blow over in wind as andyp says they will not flower yet so do not cut back.
