Woah! New thread!?!?! Remember when people used forum 26 for something that wasn't bike snooker? Well, I'm resurrecting that community spirit right here, right now motherfuckeeeeerrrrrs!
Does anyone want to play basketball? I'd be up for anything from proper paid-for sports hall real games to one more friend throwing airball after airball at a public court (Kings Heath/Selly Oak/Calthorpe Park etc). I'm fairly rubbish, so I'm not expecting or requesting any level of skill.
I can do most weeknights except Wednesday - I'm thinking public courts will be busy on weekends unless we go mega-early.

On a side note, next year I think the format needs more discussion. I wasn't prepared to play 12 games in a row and it certainly affected some teams the next day.
I'm sure there will be lots to talk about in the sense of formatting and future tourneys so maybe new thread for that at some point?
I don't want to stink up the thread with format discussions, but while it's on my mind, allowing draws on Saturday really screwed up our (and Dead Rappers') day. I get that there's pressure on time, but I don't think draws should be considered an option...
I doubt we would have qualified through the RR anyway, but it would have been nice to have a bash.

Okay, we're doing two cars.
I think I will struggle to fit my big tent into an already crammed car and I'm worried it'll be too big for the pitch, so I think I'll stay with Stabbath's host. I'm happy to pay 1/6th of the camping* so nobody is out of pocket.
Can somebody else bring a 2-3 man tent? I think that will cover everything.
Nearly there!
*Fair Camping Price Levy to be added to Neil's fuel price...

ps. keep up that positive attitude Dan - you guys looked like you were enjoying yourselves yesterday on court.
It was fun playing more attacking polo, but I suck at making unforced errors. You guys did well against 5G - one or two victories?
I'll be fine driving if Lucas can take three then we can do two cars can't we? That way you're indebted to me and have to make it up by driving me to Krakow and back...

How do you get to whatever age you are without owning a sleeping bag?
It's a 'family tent'. We used it last year roadtripping around Europe and there was ample room either side of our considerable airbed. With normal sleeping bags/mats I'm pretty sure 6 would squeeze in, although it might be tight. Next to the sleeping compartment there's a big porch area for the putting of bags and stuff.
Although I just checked and it's this one so maybe it's only for 5 people...

I'm happy to provide my big tent.
Would be awesome if we could condense into two cars and I don't have to drive. I obviously have a bike rack and so does Lucas I think, so the bikes can hang off the back which usually leaves room for 3 people per car. Is everyone staying all weekend though? I am*.
*Fully intend to be in the final.

Okay, enough speculation, non-specific statements and vagueness, we need some listage.

Stabbath have been offered accommodation, but I encouraged LJ to go ahead and book camping, so if there is spare tent space I might take it up. I am no longer a part animal, so I like the idea of a nice quiet campsite when I can go to bed when I want (10.30pm) with a book...

Krakow Travel plans*
I haven't bothered looking at planes, but it seems to be complicated and expensive. Fin suggested Manchester - Krakow is c£140 without bikes, but Neil (5G) said there are no planes back on the monday, so another day recovering/sightseeing/eating borscht which will be expensive.'Our' Neil and LJ have both alluded to potentially getting motorhomes. Was this pie-in-the-sky, or a genuine option? I've asked for the Thursday and Tuesday off work just in case and would be happy to drive (up to) 50% of the time if it is an option.
We should probably wait and see which Birmingham teams (if any) qualify, and for which parts of the tournament, but it would be nice to think about options beforehand. The wild card is on the Thursday so I assume that would rule out driving if anyone wants to play in that..

Today is team practice. You're more than welcome to come down and watch, but the best bet might be to come on Wednesday - just check here to make sure six people are playing.
We do team practice very rarely, usually when a big tournament is coming up; every other session is open. There probably won't be anyone playing next Sunday though, as most of us will be playing at a tournament in Cambridge.

I obviously don't know the circumstances and there may be perfectly justifiable reasons, but it's a bit disappointing that several teams 'would go' to the Euros on Saturday evening, but then a few days later 'are unavailable'.
Perhaps another thing to consider in the format for next time?
