Any opinions on which of these is best?

http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/FBPXPRORIV12/planet_x_pro_carbon_rival_road_bike_2012Are you looking for a 48cm frame? Evans shows only that size available.
CAAD8 (48cm) 528mm stack 364mm reach 510mm top tube
PX (small) -5mm stack +15mm reach +20mm tt -

Easy mistake to make TBF.
I'm guessing all the cables were cut the same length so on a tiny frame like that there's slack, and someone wasn't paying attention. Anyway, minor quibble easily fixed. Decent looking bikes really, though Halfords wont let you test ride which is pretty dumb for a bricks & mortar outfit.

Too sensible. eVent DVL is the new news: http://www.trailspace.com/articles/2012/07/26/rab-westcomb-event-dvl.html

Pleased that this Year's race is mainly in the more picturesque north of Spain. Even so,there is something about Spanish roads that make the Vuelta less visually compelling than the Giro or the Tour. The racing, however, is top notch.
I haven't watched much Vuelta but some of the scenery is mesmerising, more so for me than le tour. Eurosportplayer will have proper coverage, right?

Not many sizes left. These were more meant as examples of whats out there at this time of year. But if it fits, superb.
Yeah weird sportive geometry. Headtube length needs checking. Also it comes with a compact crank and a 11-30 cassette.
He's after a ~60cm so the clearance stuff is good. Wird sportive geo and granny gears probably fine for a newbie too :-) -

Should I just get a ribble winter/audax 105 bike, or wait for something better in the sales? I'm not fussed about branding at all but want at least 105 or equivalent.
Any good/bad ribble stories?
You could save 50 squid by going with SRAM Apex instead of 105, put it into more appropriate wheels/tyres/saddle/etc. I miss my Ribble 7005. -

Exactly:
https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere/It's a shame there isn't an Apache module that implements that and re-writes content generated by web servers to convert http:// links to https:// so that users don't have to have the extension installed to get the benefits.
Did you stick with HSTS in the end? -

Amazing riding from everyone, sad for Evans. He must be really disapointed with him self.
If this really is the post-doping era maybe it's also the end of incredible back-to-back tour wins, in which case good on him for trying anyway. Maybe unassisted humans have a longer recovery time than one year. That said he's only a few minutes off the lead and barely a minute behind 2nd and 3rd.. lots of steep windy miles to go.
