I know he shipped most of his frame sets to the USA, and considering you can pick up 'track frames' in supermarket style sport stores over there, I reckon it was his business management which let him down. Apparently before he'd even got the frames himself he'd taken the money off of customers and the lead time was massive as a result! I think there is definately a market for steel lugged track frame sets at a good price for sure!

Looks the nuts.....but I'm afraid looks is as far as it goes! I love all the retro stuff for the nostalgia (having raced xc for most of the nineties) but nowadays I just can't see the practical use of owning something like this..... I guess thats why the whole 'fixie' thing got me turned on to bikes again, as you could incorporate all the retro gubbins and still have loads of fun on a practical level!
Might be 15 years old working porn, but give me a full bouncer and a hill in Wales any time...........ProN.http://www.retrobike.net/forum/files/front_side_view_148.jpg

Cheers. I just spoke to Oif too. They're going to be getting back to me at some point today hopefully! They now use a chemical stripper which can be quite abrasive on aluminium as well as shot/sand blasting the frames too. I've used Oif when I worked at OCW and the results were always good:)
If I get a positive response from them later then I could take your frame with me too if you like! Let me know sooner rather than later as I want to get these done asap and I know that Oif are happier the more they have! Ta -
I am currently, as I type, trying to phone various powdercoaters around Oxford. This is the story so far! Witney pc's no longer have a telephone that works. Vale pc's phone seems to work but the answering phone message sounds like someone coughing with no info what so ever. Kolorplast in Didcot just won't pick up and PPS in Aylesbury, although rude, are the only ones I got any answers out of!
curn....I'm taking some frames to be painted this monday come hell or high water. I'll enquire and once I get them back from wherever I'll post up the results!
I have to admit that it is ridiculous how many pc's there are around Oxford but none seem willing to deal with pushbike frames!

This makes me a little sad. I know baskets look good on certain style of (porteur) Bike but on this Nag, to me it just looks ridiculous.
Why don't you spray it black, whack some fat cream schwalbe's on it, fenders, lamps, brakes, freewheel, chainguard then you might be able to justify the basket.Or remove the basket and accept that this is how this weapon of a bike should roll....
can i squeeze in another cheeky current project photo in here.... gots a new basket (wald)
thanks to tokyofixed for letting me stick around their shop and use their tools to make the basket fit..... real friendly shop
new ring too, painted in same colour scheme. Does that make me hipster yet? I have a ring to match my bike.......woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
