Hi all,
Basically as per the title - looking for a nice 54/55 cm frameset, decent steel tubing, not too old. Going to build it up geared, so I'm after 130 spacing. I'm a big fan of some of the Gazelle/Concorde frames that keep appearing but I'm fairly open minded.
Ideally I'll spend around 100 quid, but can do more if the right thing comes along...
What you got?

There are a lot of professional and amateur traders on Marktplaats. That's spoiling a big part of the fun. Just cheap advertisement from them or people buying more or less everything that is available and try to resell with as much as possible profit.
Business via Ebay in NL is almost zero. That's a sign.I think it happens on all big sites like this once they reach a certain size. It's like on eBay here when you see people selling things at prices higher than on amazon. People assume they're getting a good deal but it's not always the case...

"a courier inspired single-speed, which takes track bike heritage and mixes it with messenger style cool to produce a bike that is as dependable as it is fast."
Style, heritage, cool, dependable, fast. It's got it all.

Chippenham to Bath on the A4 isn't very nice really - it is quite busy and there are quite a few HGV's... But there is a massive downhill into a place called Box that would be really fun.
And yea, sustrans path to Bristol is super easy, it's like a bike motorway. 100% flat, paved, nicely sheltered in the trees. It's great.

Not sure if anyone will be interested, but for the princely sum of collection, you can grab yourself:
One of those big cardboard boxes bikes come in. Useful for posting something? Or hiding inside?
A set of very dodgy wheels. 27 x 1/4. The front one is no name hub, Rigida rims. The back has a shimano hub, no name rims, 5 gears. They were on a very old shity bike, and were quickly removed. I believe they need truing, and the hubs probably need servicing. They do come with tubes and tires, although the back tyre has worn through and is un-usable, and the front is rather ageing to say the least.... The redeeming feature of the wheels is that they come with a super cool Bike Week reflector. Highly sought after I hear.
Collection today would be ideal, as I go on holiday tomorrow. N7 0BL.

After crashing my bike last summer I developed a similar problem. Not a massive deal but really quite annoying. It turned out that I had ever so slightly bent the steering tube of the forks (I think I've explained this badly but I mean the bit of your forks that you don't see as it's inside the headtube of the frame). They were only a few mm's out but I had to get new forks in the end...
Hope your problem is something a little easier to fix.

what other ways are there to stop brakeless
Why do you seem so keen to go brakeless? It seems a little nuts to me. In my opinion, to ride brakeless you have to be very confident and know what your doing. If you are grinding your shoes on your wheel to slow down, you obviously do not know what you are doing. You probably would die if you went brakeless. So get a brake, and use it.

Do your nails while your at it.
;-)
Thanks for the grooming tip :).
Still cant find my ruler but meh.
My friend came round who has built a couple of fixed gear bikes before and was stumped. Really not sure what's up. Cant get a much shorter BB in there,
Going to hit up a bike shop and ask. Will report back for future reference when I get round to it. Single speed for me in the meantime...
Thanks for advice so far though.

I'm well confused by all this... If you have a flipflop wheel when flipping it Round to the fixed side the chainline should be the same. If not a proper 120mm fixed hub if you respace frMs and put a 120mm hub would improve chainline.
That is what I thought would happen. But looking at it with both cogs on, the fixed cog is closer into the wheel by a fair margin, 5mm at least I would very roughly guess (becuase I can't find my ruler) than the freewheel.

It doesn't really sound like it's what I'm after but thanks anyway.
