The bosses are Bates reg'd design mudguard bosses which are used with a thumbscrew for easy fitment/removal - bikes in the 30s were generally multipurpose and would be ridden to events - I have seen a cyclist's diary from the 30s where he described how he'd ride up to a 100 miles on the Saturday to an event, ride the event on Sunday and ride home afterwards getting home in the early hours... mudguards were essential kit. The second higher boss on right-hand seatstay is for a reflector; there is not one on the LH stay.

BIANCHI FAVONIUS ROAD FRAME c1993
Seat Tube (ctc): 56cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Oria
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This early 1990s Bianchi is built from one of the more budget Oria tubing sets. Its in very sound condition and the paintwork though it has quite a number of marks is very useable. The headset dustcover has a small section missing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £83http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Bianchi-Favonius.jpg
EDDY MERCKX PROFESSIONAL ROAD FRAME c1983
Seat Tube (ctc): 57cm
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Eddy Merckx steel frames are some of the nicest riders made - this one from the early 80s is in very sound condition but really needs repainting. However it is one of the the examples built from Reynolds 531 double-butted tubing. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £165http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Merckx-Pro-531.jpg
RICKERT SPEZIAL ROAD FRAME c1988
Seat Tube (ctc): 55.5cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Probably Reynolds 531 double butted
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 47mm
Rickert was one of the top German framebuilders and with this frame you can see why - it simply exudes quality. The paintwork is in very nice condition - it has some marks but nothing which stands out too much... Bottom bracket threads are standard English. The horizontal dropouts mean that that it is ideal as a single speed or fixed conversion. £165 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Rickert-sml.jpg
BATES VEGRANDIS c1937
Seat Tube (ctt): 20in
Top Tube (ctc): 23.5in
Rear dropout width: 110mm
Brake drop with 700C wheels: 50mm
Tubing: Reynolds 531 Cantiflex tubing
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This Bates Vegrandis frames dates from c1937. It has been repainted and there are signs of light pitting under the paint in a number of places but nothing which worry me from the structural point of view. It would have been built for 26 x 1 1/4in wheels originally but there’s plenty of space for 700/sprints. £95http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Bates-Vegrandis.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Bates-Vegrandis-details.jpgKOGA MIYATA AERO ROAD FRAME 1981
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Tange Champion No 1
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This is one of top end Koga-Miyata Japanese built frames which are truly stunning quality. Just take a look at the lug finishing and the drilled bottom bracket shell. These are really very fine frames. The paint is in very good/excellent condition with only a few marks. The long horizontal dropouts make it am ideal conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £125 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Koga-Miyata-Aero.jpg
COUGAR TT LO-PRO FRAME built for Chris Boardman c1991
Seat Tube (ctt): 40cm
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C rear, 24in front
Frame tubing: Unknown
This stunning frame finished in a black with a speckle was built by Cougar Cycles for Chris Boardman to attack several short distance time trial records c1991 before he turned professional. The fairings are not structural - they are probably fibre-glass! In one or two places there are cracks between the tubes and the fairings but nothing at all significant. This frame could be ridden with a suitable length seatpost riders of between about 5ft 6in and 6ft tall - the top top tube length is the important dimension... The vertical dropouts mean that it is not especially suitable for singlespeed or fixed use unless you manage a magic chain length. £195http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Cougar-Boardman.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Chris-Boardman-lopro-whls.jpg
CBT ITALIA ROAD FRAME c1994
Seat Tube (ctc): 49cm
Top Tube (ctc): 51cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This is a rather unusual CBT Italia frame which uses a very distinctive fluted tubing. It is in excellent condition with almost unmarked paintwork and the long horizontal dropouts mean that it will make an easy conversion to singlespeed or fixed. £185http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/CBT-Italia.jpg
RALEIGH MIXTE c1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Seatpost size: 25.4mm
This Raleigh mixte is very pretty and dates from the late 70s – the paint is not perfect - it has quite a number of marks etc but does look very presentable. £33http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Raleigh-mixte.jpg
GUERCIOTTI ROAD FRAME 61cm c1985 NOS
Seat Tube (ctc): 61cm
Top Tube (ctc): 60cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C
Frame tubing: Columbus SP
Bottom Bracket Threads: Italian
This Guerciotti frame is NOS. It has all the classic Guerciotti features such as the star shape cutout in the lower head lug and bottom bracket and the engraved top eyes. The paint is is in very nice condition but there are some chips noticeably on the ends of the head tube - these could be carefully touched up. No fork. reduced to £115http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Guerciotti-SL.jpg
CINELLI UNICA ROAD FRAME 46.5cm like 51cm 1996
Offered for sale is an excellent 1996 46.5cm (ctc) Cinelli Unica road frame with a 52cm ctc top tube. Rear dropout width is 130mm. Bottom bracket threads are Italian. It is built from Columbus Brain tubing. It takes a 27.2mm seatpost. This is a very beautiful compact road frame with a sloping top tube - it is roughly equivalent to a 50-51cm standard road frame. It has one very small dent to the top of the top tube just in front of the seat lug which can just be seen in the photos. The paint is in very nice condition with very few marks. There is a sticky coating to some of the paint - I have cleaned most of it off but some residue still remains. £125 reduced to £115 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Cinelli-Unica.jpg
http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Cinelli-Unica-dets.jpgGEOFF WILES ROAD FRAME 23.5in
Seat Tube (ctt): 23.5in (59.5cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Brake drop: 42mm with 700C/sprints
Seatpost size 27.2mm
This is a nicely built frame - sold from Geoff Wiles shop in Kent - its not known who built some of the frames he sold - this one is built from good quality double butted tubing for it takes a 27.2mm seatpost - the frame is very Italian in style but does have an English threaded bottom bracket shell. Included are the headset and Campy bottom bracket. £65 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Geoff-Wiles.jpg

TEAM BRITE MICRO LO-PRO TT FRAME Reynolds 853 c1998 built by Paul Donohue
Ex Chris Newton
Seat Tube (ctt): 44.5cm (17.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 853
This frame is an ex Team Brite micro lo-pro frame that was ridden by Chris Newton around 1998 and is beautifully built from Reynolds 853 tubing. Paul Donohue’s works built all the Team Brite frames and they employed a tig welder who was truly superb - in my opinion he was just as good as the tig welders at Merlin who I had seen working back in 1994. Its a really gorgeous frame which would equate to about a conventional 21.5 in road frame and is designed for use with a long aero seatpost and aero bars of course. It comes complete as shown in the photos with its original bladed carbon fibre forks. £225
DIAMOND ROAD FRAME ** NEW and UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 43mm
Wheel size: 700C
This NOS Belgian made frame is really rather nice and is very attractively finished in excellent yellow and green paint. It would make an excellent conversion with its horizontal droputs - its built from a good quality butted tubing. £95 SOLD
BOB JACKSON ROAD FRAME c1985
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This Bob Jackson is severely in need of refurbishment – it looks as if it has been used on a home turbo... However it is very sound – there is one very small dent to the side of the top tube but there are no other problems apart from it needing a good powder coat. A chance to get a bargain at £95 SOLD
RON COOPER ROAD FRAME early 1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm (22in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Ron Cooper is one of the true greats of British frame building having learnt his craft at Gillotts post-war and building all the later Gillotts up until about 1970. This frame dating I think from the early 70s really shows just how good a builder he was - the drilled lugs with one small hole, a larger hole and then a small hole again are really cool as is the seat binder bolt which is beautifully built into the seat lug. Ron Cooper frames are really rather uncommon. £125 SOLD
RIBBLE ROAD FRAME c1989
Seat Tube (ctt): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
This Rible road frame from the late 1980s is in really rather nice condition - the paintwork is generally very good and useable but needs need touching up where the front dropout was rebrazed into the fork blade - the dropout had very little brze and attaching it to the blade so it was thought wise to rebraze it. The standard of construction of the rest of the frame looks to be excellent. £75 SOLD
RALEIGH PURSUIT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctt): 60cm
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
This Raleigh frame is in very sound condition with perfectly useable paint. The right rear dropout could easily be filed out to make it a long horizontal dropout ideal for a budget fixed/singlespeed conversion. £29
MBK TEAM REPLICA c1991 NEW OLD STOCK
Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm (55cm ctt)
Top Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Front Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Columbus SL
This is a rather nice NOS MBK frame from the early 1990s built from Columbus tubing which is ovalised at the bottom bracket. The top tube takes the rear brake cable in a slot along the length of the top tube's underside – very neat and cool. Overall this is one really rather special frame. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a fixed or single-speed conversion should not be too difficult. £175
BRITISH EAGLE MIXTE FRAME c1990 45cm!
Seat Tube (ctt): 17.5in (45cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 20.5in (52cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 26in MTB
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 main tubes
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This is a very small British Eagle mixte frame that uses 26in MTB size wheels – its built with Reynolds 531 main tubes so is of really quite nice quality. It comes complete as shown in the pics with BB, headset and Suntour cantilever brakes. £49 SOLD
RUDGE CLUBMAN FRAME c1949
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 114mm
Wheel size: 27in/
Brake drop with sprints/700C: 58mm
Raudge Clubman frames were one one step up from the basic Raleigh Lenton model or its Rudge equivalent with cutaway lugs, slightly steeper frame angles and Reynolds 531 butted main tubes. This one has charming original paint though the forks may possibly not be original – they are however certainly Rudge forks... These are really underrated frames which ride nicely and make a great conversion. £39 SOLD
PEUGEOT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Wheel size: 700C
Peugeot made very nice cheaper road frames in the 1970s/80s - this one has very good paint. The rear dropout width and horizontal dropouts make it an ideal candidate for a budget conversion to fixed or singlespeed. reduced to £22

CHAS ROBERTS ROAD FRAME Reynolds 531 1994
Seat Tube (ctt): 52cm (20.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 53.5cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 45mm
Chas Roberts has an enviable reputation for building superb road frames - this Reynolds 531 tubed frame from 1994 is just gorgeous and is in excellent condition. The horizontal dropouts mean that it could be converted to singlespeed or fixed if wanted. £145 SOLD
TOMACC LO-PRO ** NEW and UNUSED**
Seat Tube (ctc): 20.25in (51.5cm) (57.5cm ctt)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 40mm
Wheel size: 700C front and rear
This is a rather beautiful NOS Lo-Pro frame from the early 1990s with curved seat tube and close clearances - it carries the decals of a Belgian cycle shop for who it was made probably I think with Reynolds 531 tubing. The paint is in very nice condition though there are a few small shopwear chips and marks. Head tube angle is about 73 °. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a singlespeed or fixed conversion could be made without too much trouble. £195

GILLOTT SPEARPOINT LUG ROAD FRAME 1951
Seat Tube (ctt): 61cm (24in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57.5cm (22.75in)
Rear dropout width: 115mm
Wheel size: 27in/ Sprints/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 58mm
This is a very sound Gillott Spearpoint lugged road frame which can be dated from its frame number as coming from 1951. It definitely needs repainting but will be truly stunning when restored. Its easy to convert this frame to 120mm rear dropout spacing and will then be totally ideal as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £145
FALCON BANANA ROAD FRAME c1990
Seat Tube (ctt): 62.25cm (24.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 500
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 54mm
Falcon took on sponsorship of the Banana team in 1990 I think and this very sound frame I think must date from about then. The paintwork is good and will clean up nicely with a little care. Really rather uncommon. £39
DAVE LLOYD CONCEPT 90 ROAD FRAME 1992
Seat Tube (ctt): 54cm (21.25in) (19in 48cm ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 53.5cm (21in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 753
Dave Lloyd’s Concept 90 frame introduced as the name suggests in 1990 with sloping top tube predates the Giant TCR frame by some six years but the reasoning behind the Concept 90 design is quite different. The Concept 90 sloping top tube design on the other hand was custom built (and silver brazed without lugs) to fit each rider. The sloping top tube was used to reduce the size of the main triangle and thus improve frame stiffness. The seat tube on the Concept 90 was quite normal in length – with a long extension above the top tube. It was only the rear end of the top tube that was dropped to meet the seat tube further down. And the rear stays were brought in to meet the seat tube at the height of the top tube. This was done in a clever and very stylish fashion with a wishbone arrangement for the seatstay top end – this design had been used on MTB frames but it was novel on a road frame then and looked exceptionally neat. The head tube height was quite conventional. Overall the result was a tremendous looking frame which was at the time quite original in appearance.
This frame is the one that was featured in Cycling Plus magazine 151 Design Classics and is in excellent condition. £225
PEUGEOT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 49mm
Wheel size: 700C
Peugeot made very nice cheaper road frames in the 1970s/80s - this one has very good paint. The rear dropout width and horizontal dropouts make it an ideal candidate for a budget conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £24
RALEIGH ROYAL TOURING FRAME 1987
Seat Tube (ctt): 59.5cm (23.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
This Raleigh Royal touring frame is in extremely nice condition and comes complete with Dia-Compe cantilever brakes and headset. The Royal was one of Raleigh’s best touring frames. £119
BENOTTO
Seat Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23in (58cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 44mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This Benotto frame I think from around 1983 has been very attractively refinished in white and silver but with decals from a Belgian bike shop, Tomacc. It has some nice touches such as the heart cutout in the bottom bracket shell. Its probably built from Columbus Aelle tubing. It will make an excellent singlespeed or fixed conversion. £95
CAMPAGNO NEW OLD STOCK
Seat Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 128mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 45mm
Wheel size: 700C
This unused Belgian made frame is really quite nicely made from one of the more budget versions of Oria tubing; the front forks though are Columbus Thron. I do not know anything about the shop or builder though... It will make an excellent singlespeed or fixed conversion. £85
MBK PRO NEW OLD STOCK
Seat Tube (ctc): 54cm (56.5cm ctt)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.25in (56.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Front Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Wheel size: 700C
This is a rather nice NOS MBK frame from the early 1990s built from Vitus tubing which is ovalised at the bottom bracket. The top tube takes tghe rear brake cable in a slot along the length of the top tube's underside – very neat and cool. The semi-vertical dropouts should mean that a fixed or single-speed conversion should not be too difficult. £95

Hi everyone,
I have sorted out a load of bars - there are pictures with some and pics already taken for others - these are marked as pic available. And I can take pics of anything somebody is interested in and it may take a day or two but my descriptions I think are pretty accurate. Please bear in mind many of the bars will need tape glue residue cleaned off etc and that the area under the clamp will probably be marked. The description of bars refers to the the appearance of the clamp area and Exc = virtually no marks and VG = a few minor marks, not at all disfiguring.
I personally think you can interchange between Cinelli and 3TT bars and stems fine but the official recommendation is that 26.4mm stems should be used with 26.4mm bars and 26.0mm stems should be used with 26.0mm bars.ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL
Bars cost £4 to post within the UK. I will post internationally.Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…

STAN PIKE ROAD FRAME 21.5in c1980 Reynolds 753
Seat Tube (ctt) : 21.5in
Top Tube (ctc): 21in
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 39mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 753
This frame has had one owner from new and has been relatively recently repainted; however Argos fitted their own transfers...
Stan Pike only built under his own name for a few years - approx 1975-83 - a small amount of information is available on him at www.classicrendezvous.com/british_isles/Pike_stan.htm He started out as a framebuilder at Wally Green in the 1960s before becoming a a welder at Westland helicopters. £195

HOBBS SUPERBE 1947 Fancy lugs
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
Rear dropout width: 110mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Frame tubing: Almost certainly Reynolds 531 DB
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 58mm
Hobbs were probably the first British manufacturer to adopt fancy lugs in 1936 and the design they used then continued to be used until the early 1950s as seen here on this 1947 example. This frame is in very sound condition with no dents or dings and will look truly superb once renovated. Its very suitable for singlespeed or fixed gear conversion with the long horizontal dropouts. £149
RALEIGH PURSUIT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctt): 60cm
Top Tube (ctc): 56cm
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
This Raleigh frame is in very sound condition with perfectly useable paint. The right rear dropout could easily be filed out to make it a long horizontal dropout ideal for a budget fixed/singlespeed conversion. £29
MONDIA ROAD FRAME c1977
Seat Tube (ctc): 58cm
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
Seatpost size: 26.6mm
Frame number: 287894
Mondia frames are really rather nice and understated – the one is nicely finished in gold – there are some marks to the paint but nothing very large. Typically Swiss it uses metric sized 531 tubing combined with Italian BB threads... £260
CARLTON FLYER c1965
Seat Tube (ctt): 60cm
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
Rear dropout width: 124mm
Brake drop with 700C wheels: 62mm
Tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
The Carlton Flyer was during the mid 1960s the top road frame available from Carlton/Raleigh. This frame is beautifully built with the fancy curly lugs with windows and Zeus long rear dropouts making it great as a fixed/singlespeed conversion. The paint is in generally sound condition but needs touching up in a number of places if used as is. £110http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Carlton-Flyer-c1965.jpg
HIGGINS c1946
Seat Tube (ctt) : 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
Rear dropout width: 114mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 57mm)
Bottom bracket threads: English
Seatpost size: 26.8mm
This is a very nice filet brazed (lugless) road frame from the early post-war years. Higgins was a master of fillet brazing - he was best known for his trikes and to a lesser extent tandems... most of which were fillet brazed. This frame is ideal for fixed or single speed use - I will adjust the rear triangle width for the buyer to either 110mm or 120mm if wanted. £95
MOSER LEADER AX ROAD FRAME c1990
Seat Tube (ctt): 64cm 58cm (ctc)
Top Tube (ctc): 57cm
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame Tubing: Oria
The Leader AX frames were introduced by Moser in around 1989. They were really quite stunning, fillet brazed with silver solder and an oversize top tube they were one of the first of a new breed of steel road frames and looked truly stunning. This one is in very sound condition with good useable paintwork and no dents or dings. It has horizontal dropouts so is perfectly suitable for fixed or singlespeed use. £175.
RALEIGH DYNA-TECH 401Ti ROAD FRAME 1993 New Old Stock
Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Titanium main tubes, chrome-moly rear stays and forks
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 47mm
In the late 1980s Raleigh developed frames with bonded aluminium lugs used with steel and/or titanium tubing. These eventually were branded Dyna-Tech. This frame is one of the last of this development and apart from the very rare and exotic version using aluminium metal matrix tubing was the top of the line Raleigh road frame in 1993. It uses titanium main tubes bonded to aluminium lugs with Reynolds chrome-moly rear stays and forks. This frame is totally unused and even comes with a spare frame identity hologram decal that Raleigh used on their top frames then. £125
BOB JACKSON ROAD FRAME c1985
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 700C
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531C
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 45mm
This Bob Jackson is severely in need of refurbishment – it looks as if it has been used on a home turbo... However it is very sound – there is one very small dent to the side of the top tube but there are no other problems apart from it needing a good powder coat. A chance to get a bargain and reduced to £95

Hi everyone,
I have sorted out a load of handlebar stems - this time I have separated the bars out and these hopefully will be in another thread later this week.... Please bear in mind almost all stems will have insertion marks...
I personally think you can interchange between Cinelli and 3TT bars and stems fine but the official recommendation is that 26.4mm stems should be used with 26.4mm bars and 26.0mm stems should be used with 26.0mm bars.
ALL ITEMS ARE IN BRISTOL
Payment can be via bank transfer (preferred), cheque or the dreaded Paypal which costs me 3%…** If you dib an item, please PM me and pay the same day unless you make other arrangements with me. **

Top Tube (ctc): 20.5in (52cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 26in MTB
Frame Tubing: Reynolds 531 main tubes
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
This is a very small British Eagle mixte frame that uses 26in MTB size wheels – its built with Reynolds 531 main tubes so is of really quite nice quality. It comes complete as shown in the pics with BB, headset and Suntour cantilever brakes. £49 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/British-Eagle-mixte.jpg
PEUGEOT 525 COMP ROAD FRAME
Seat Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 8
Offered here is a rather nice early 1990s road frame built from Reynolds 525 tubing. Its in very sound condition with really very reasonable paintwork and would be ideal as a winter trainer or commuter with gears. £48 **SOLD **http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Peugeot-525-Comp.jpg
HOLDSWORTH SUPER MISTRAL c1968
Seat Tube (ctt): 57cm (22.5in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (20in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Brake drop with 700C: 59mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size 27.2mm
This Holdsworth Super Mistral almost certainly dates from 1967/8 – the frame number 35131 certainly suggests this period and 1967/8 were the first years for the Super Mistral model which differed from the Mistral by having a fully sloping fork crown. The quality of this frame is really nice – the seatstay wrapover is just gorgeous. This frame has been repainted but not very well and the top tube has a few small dents from what looks like things being dropped on it. However Super Mistral frames are not at all common and were for 1967 Holdsworth’s top frame. £95 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Holdsworth-MistralPro-.jpg
RALEIGH MIXTE c1970s
Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Seatpost size: 25.4mm
This Raleigh mixte is very pretty and dates from the late 70s – the paint is not perfect - it has quite a number of marks etc but does look very presentable. £33http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Raleigh-mixte.jpg
PEUGEOT ROAD/TOURING FRAME 1970s
Seat Tube (ctc): 24.5in (62cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 23.4in (59.5cm)
Rear dropout width: 122mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 63mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Peugeot made very nice cheaper road frames in the 1970s/80s - this one has some rather interesting lugs. The paint is in very sound useaable condition. The rear dropout width and horizontal dropouts make it an ideal candidate for a budget conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £33 **SOLD **http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Pegeot-gothic.jpg
VISCOUNT ROAD FRAME c1974
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 56.5cm (22.25in)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: 27in/700C
Frame tubing: Aerospace Cr-Mo
Brake drop with 700C/Sprint wheel: 27.0
Viscount frames from the 1970s were really quite far ahead of their times - they were fillet brazed from from good quality cro-mo steel tubing and were really rather nice. They incorporated advanced features such as a pressed in cartridge bearing BB. And originally were supplied with an aluminium fork which occasionally broke - this frame still has its original aluminium forks. This frame is one of the earlier Viscounts and is in very nice condition. £59http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Viscount-1.jpg
£45 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Rudge-Clubman.jpg
SUN ROAD FRAME 1950s
Seat Tube (ctt): 58cm (23in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55.5cm (21.75in)
Rear dropout width: 110mm
Wheel size: 27in/Sprints or 700C
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 60mm
Seatpost size 26.8mm
Sun were based in Birmingham when this frame was built in the late 1940s/early 1950s. Its in sound condition with the remains of its original paintwork. Would make an excellent beater or around town bike and would go unnoticed... £39 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Sun.jpg
EDDY MERCKX Early and rare! 1979
Seat Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Frame Tubing: Columbus SL
Wheel size: 700C
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is one of the very first Eddy Merckx frames to come from Merckx’s own factory – it may indeed be early enough to have been built by De Rosa. The slotted bottom bracket and pressed lugs - especially the seat lug are all indicators of it being very early as are the Eddy Merckx signature seatstay caps and fork crown which has Eddy engraved on one side and Merckx on the other side. It has no number other than a 7 which indicate that it is a 57cm centre to top frame. But it is identical to another Merckx frame I have details of whose number was in the 700s... This frame has been repainted at the Merckx factory reasonably recently but has a number of mostly small marks. Early Merckx frames such as this are exceptionally rare and have a special charm that the later ones with all cast lugs and brackets simply do not have... £295 SOLDhttp://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Merckx-early.jpg
PEUGEOT ROAD FRAME 1980s
Seat Tube (ctc): 21.5in (55cm)
Top Tube (ctc): 22in (56cm)
Rear dropout width: 120mm
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 46mm
Wheel size: 700C
Peugeot made very nice cheaper road frames in the 1970s/80s - this one has very good paint. The rear dropout width and horizontal dropouts make it an ideal candidate for a budget conversion to fixed or singlespeed. £24http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r77/hilarystone/Peugeot-103-dk-blue.jpg
