Just being a little sentimental here: not sure on the photo but, are the rear triangle and headtube fine? If yes you're only two tubes and one fork away from repairing and at the same time you can shorten the top tube. Winston surely could confirm if viable...

Looking good! Liking the idea of the colour matched bars. Only issue might be your clamps for shifters and brakes once the paint is on -those old suntours can be pretty tight clamp

I reckon those should shift a front three ok - they are the MTB ones arent they?

I didn't give Mario the bars in the end, just the steel stem. I'll buy one of these Humpert bars Spotter suggested.
I'm not sure the Suntour shifters are mtb ones I'll need investigate. You're right btw, clamp is tight.

Striped frame. Luckily Mario had 531ST decals in stock

Part bin crankset, I'll need spacers and long chainring bolts to secure the small ring. Lot of work and autosol to clean these up...

Then I need to figure out if these could deal with a triple crankset... Any idea?

Stupidly I forgot to give him the bars. Which I coupled with a 1 inch steel stem from the bon part. Color matched with the frame these should look nice, though not weight sensitive

Dropped the frame at Mario this morning and decided (as often with Mario) on the color once there... And white Dawes decals (it won't day Londoner but I don't mind)

Found these which I'd forgotten about, steel, could spray them if do the frame. Only problem is that the clamping area is quite narrow, only works with some stems (for instance it's not ideal with the Eclypse pictured)

Wont she be offended you've used bars from Toulouse? Weren't there any nice bars from le Nord?!?!

Ha! Imagine bars named "Pas De Calais" she would be impressed (they live in Normandie but she's from "proper" north...)
