The main point which seemed to emerge from Cancellara's fitting session was the unusually large range of movement in the hip joint, i.e. stretching the gluteals. If you can keep the hip angle closed, it means you don't have to arch the spine as much to keep the shoulders low.
Reading that Frank Schleck can't touch his toes either is somewhat comforting.

Hello,
one of my goals after the set back of last year, where my back snapped out on me, is to get into long distance cycling this year.
New bike is ready for me to be collected, and now I just need to get myself started.I'd appreciate some tips from people on how to get started sensibly, without overdoing it.
Do people here do long rides alone or in a group?
Maybe someone has started long distance riding lately, and could tell me how exactly that went along?
Also if anyone knows clubs and organized rides in and around SE15 area that I'd definitely should look at, that'd be greatly appreciated. Not long after I got my single speed I found myself wanting to ride further and further so one day I decided to go to Box Hill and back (approx 45 miles).
I'd not really cycled very far at all for about 15 years, I got on the bike, packed a few energy bars and went for it. Stopped at the cafe for a flapjack and a cuppa and rode home. Left me tired but felt good.
After that I wanted to go further and over more hills so got a geared bike and rode to Brighton. Was planning to ride back but left too late and didn't fancy navving in the dark (was before I had the Garmin)
My advice is get on your bike and ride.
I'm pretty near to you (SE27) if you fancy heading out sometime.

I've got a Satori and only really use a few of the resistance settings.
I mainly use the turbo for intervals, so really just change gear / resistance to achieve my desired heart rate and cadence combination.
I used Garmin Training Centre to set up a workout file that alerts me to my intervals (2 mins within a certain heartrate zones, 1 minute at a higher one etc...)

I'm not sure if this has been posted anywhere else. Apologies if it has.
Nice, init.Very nice, but they wouldn't get made like that. they don't fit the corporate design rules.
No Mayoral endorsement, web address rendered in upper case, no TfL logotype... I could go on. Few tweaks here and there and they would be spot on.

Have a look at the wikipedia article on Microsoft Sharepoint.
Basically it allows you to use a web based application to build collaboraton sites for teams/individuals, and these sites can have all sorts of 'web parts' on them, like document libraries, links to calendars on ms exchange, blogs, wikis, forums etc.
2010 is the latest version of it.

They do have right to query the ISPs. who can report on the bandwidth used on a given protocol (p2p)
means fuck all as they can't prove what files you have? you could be sharing free music with friends..That's not how they do it.
The owner of the copyrighted work employs a company that monitors specific torrents.
They grab the IP addresses and make a court order to the relevant ISP to find out who had that IP address at that time/date.
Technology is not proven though, and still untested. There can be lots of fake IPs on a torrent, and IPs can be obfuscated.

Took me a bit to figure out how this thing worked when I got some all carbon forks. I wasn't able to get load on the headset until I'd figured out that I could loosen the bung and slide it further into the fork.
The design is a bit odd though, you can expand the bung with an Allen key but the action of screwing the top cap bolt can also causes it to expand.

The recent weather has only highlighted what has been an ongoing problem for a number of years and that is a lack of investment in an already crumbling road network, particularly in the South east ( and else where I'm sure). Roads that have been topped dressed with a coat of tarmac only serve to cover up underlying problems that snow and ice have now uncovered. In my area around Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells (Kent) we still have potholes that are left over from last years bad weather.
So whats the answer? well more investment by local councils to fix the problems but they haven't got the money or so they keep telling us in the mean time we all have to take even more care out on the roads much to the disgust of car driving non bikers who wonder why we are sat in the middle of the road or weaving our way through pothole hell.
Is now the time for all cyclists, clubs, forums, LBS, and the bigger chains to join together in a national campaign to get Government and Borough/Town councils to fix the roads properly so we can ride without damage to ourseleves or indeed our bikes.Just a thought
Blame Thatcher.

Aaah, just did a search on the reg. number and see it's a minicab driver, not a bus driver.
2 months is still shit though
