So, saw Mr Phillips at King's today. Turns out that not only is he from God's Own Country (Llanelli, but I can forgive him that), but he's a keen roadie too, pretty regular Etape rider.

Anyway, despite the gap he checked out my range of movement and said he wasn't of a mind to operate at the moment. Going to try and let it heal naturally first, have to report back to him in a month to see how it is....

Just out of interest I had a look at SR cassettes; £230 for a cassette that weighs 24g more than a SRAM Red casette costing £150. WTF???

I've got 11-25, 12-25, 13-26 and 12-29

The Autobus got round too. Leisurely pace 20 km/h 2h37. Those hills were pretty brutal, and the "pavé" section was surprising indeed. Did manage to completely sheer the 15 cog out of my cassette up Anerley though*. Fuuuuuuuuucccccccckkkkkk!

Just regged as well. Gives an error when trying to select the 110km route so had to choose 70km but plan to do the long one.

What's the reasoning behind fixed training in the winter as you understand it clubman?

From what I gather its to keep the pedalling technique in top form, promote the suppleness in the legs before trying harder efforts to get in form for the season.
