I lived in Ruislip for a couple of years in a flat above the pizza hut on the high street. Probably in 2005/2006. I loved it there. I've just had a look on street view and the pizza hut seems to have gone, so I can't work out where the flat was.
We used to go to a pub which I think was called the Swan and which now seems to be a Cafe Rouge. Wimpy still seems to be there, though. What a place that it can sustain a Wimpy for all these years...

If you're in any way identifiable through your profile and what you post on here (and bearing in mind the specifics you give of the accident, you probably are!) I'd edit some of this particular post...
This is in no sense a criticism, but all sensible lawyers google around their case nowadays to see if there is anything publicly available that they can use.

I think that the Uber app now has a warning that the stop is along a bike route, and to watch out for cyclists when you open the door. Wonder when they put that in place?
Might suggest that they try to shift blame onto the passenger, but if they didn't have that warning when your accident happened there must be a reason why they then programmed it in.

Two wheelsets that I need out of the shed:
1) Mavic Ksyrium Equipe rims and hubs. Blades spokes. There is an issue with rear hub in that it has seized so does not engage. May or may not be an easy fix. Free to whoever can collect.
2) Mavic CXP33 rims on Campag Mirage hubs. Solid wheels in good working order. £20
And two sets of handlebars:
3) Vai stem and handlebars with Campag Veloce shifters. Used a bit, very grubby bar tape optional. £30
4) ITM dual TT bars with single brake lever attached. No risers and Deda pads glued on to arm rests but can be easily removed. £30
Open to offers as this stuff is no longer used and so is sitting around the house. Collection from N22.

I got this frame off the forum a number of years ago now. Having sorted an issue with the derailleur hanger (threads are stripped so it required an insert) I built it as a road bike. It is stiff, responsive and great fun.
Unfortunately, someone then tried to break a lock off the rear stay causing a dent (see second picture). I have not ridden it since then.
As such, it is sitting around my house not getting used and generally in the way. I don't know if it is rideable or not, so if anyone wants it and intends to ride it do so at your own risk and it would probably be sensible to get it checked out first.
First to collect it from N22 is welcome to it. Alternatively I could probably bring it in to EC4 and hand it over there.

I have the same shifters and had the exact same problem - rather than looking out for a replacement quite yet it might be worth spraying some WD40 into the available holes in the shifter (there are a couple and they are exposed if you pull the lever) and then, once it's been left to sit for a while spray in some light oil.
Once that's had opportunity to work it's way in shift up and down the block a few times and that should do the job for a fair few hundred miles - they seem to get gummed up a bit!

I had the same problem with the right hand shifter of a set of Dura Ace 7400's.
Trawling the web for advice suggested that this was a fairly common problem but that there was no easy permanent fix available. Might be possible to attempt a service but complicated, hard to get parts etc. etc. Then happened across a website that gave the temporary solution of spraying the internal parts with WD40 or equivalent to flush out any existing grease/gunk (easiest access from below the stuck lever or, on mine at least, a small hole in the shifting mechanism that's exposed when you pull the brake lever), leaving that to penetrate for a couple of hours and then applying some light oil to the same parts (suggested spray on motorcycle oil that I couldn't find, but regular light grade oil seems to work).
Did so, left overnight and normal shifting function was restored. Still working now (four months down the line) but I occasionally reapply to be on the safe side.
Certainly not permanent, but if it's the same problem (slight movement from the shifter which would occasionally shift one cog but no more) it might well get things up and running while you source a replacement.

To dredge a few posts back, I forget now where I read it (will have a look), but I remember a statistic that showed that in EU testing of cattle, clenbuterol was found in one in 80,000tested that were introduced into the food chain. Not great odds on picking up a steak during the tour that's for sure...

That looks incredible...
