Nice one Ed. Nice and understated, which clearly isn't my thing, but looks swish.
And for those that care I went for silver spokes in the end. The all white looks gash, and both the yellow and pink availible to me weren't close enough matches to the frame.
And the fecking seat tube is a stupid size. Grumble

Its not about the yellow being more absurd then white. Just a matter of what works (too my eye). I'm thinking of doing the entire rear-end in white. The yellow may not "work". May even go for silver in the end...
And thanks for the compliment Super.
Your tee is one of my favourites, everyone I meet (cyclists and non) digs it. -
what is your obsession with overly colourful builds
Don't like my bikes to be confused with any one elses :)
why not do an all black rear?
Seriously?
No way.
Not ever.how much was the paint job if you don't mind me asking.. also, what front wheel is that?
£120 for the frame and forks, £15 to have the cut outs filled. The wheel only cost me £25, but that not his official price for such a complex wheels. More like £60.
please not yellow spokes, love the project otherwise. (get yellow spokes if you want them)
You are right. White spokes it is.

Right-E-O, I'm selling this lovely little whippet.
Its a 56cm 1979 Carlton Pro-Am 12 Frame and Forks with Tange loose bearing headset.
This frame was one of the very last few Carlton's handmade in Worksop. The frames were made to run 5 or 7 speed cassests, and so have a rear mech boss, but nowt up front. It has cable guides on the top tube, but thats it. It has mudguard eyes on the fork, but not on the rear, which is weird.
The guy I bought it off bought it new in 1979 and ran both 5 and 7 on the back, which is why I'm not sure which it was originally designed for. It was originaly white with chrome fork, but was pretty chipped when I got it. So I took the frame to Armourtex. I never got round to getting replacement decals. But the fork is original, with the original Renyolds sticker. Oh yeah, the frame is 531 awsome.
I ran it as my first fixed, with no toe-overlap. The frame is in as good a condition as the day I got it, and the paint is rather good aside from some minor chipping around the BB and a tiny bit of surface rust around the rear-bridge. There are also some scratches in the clearcoat, primarily around the drive side chainstay. Its been well used, but is still a lovely ride. Really nice geometry.
I'm looking for around £110
Lol, yeah, true.
Not sure what the seatpost size is. I think its 27.0 or 26.8. I hope its the former. Difficult to tell without either a plethora of different sized seatposts or a digital caliper.
