in the old days when we were more in conjunction with india, there notes used to have animals on them, it just so happened that 500 hundred rupees had a picture of a monkey on it, then cockney rhyme and slang stole that idea to confuse the police, cockney rhyme and slang was used to confuse the police and 'screws' from the prison system to disguise what they were talking about

i must admit, i think it would be great if london created some sort of licence that was needed to enter the city by car during the week but i dont think it would work and would probably cause an even bigger debate about it but i doubt peeps on this forum drive round the city peak times in cars any ways

I find that public transport in London is an absolute no-go without an ipod nowadays. There is always some little cock on the bus playing shit ragga music through his phone, or some idiot screaming into their phone. Just general rudeness and unpleasantries really. I would rather drink 10 pints and attempt to cycle than get rely on it. As for a car well, I haven't owned one in years, but if I do need to use one for doing a large shop or driving out to see friends, I borrow the mother-in-laws which works out ok
i totally agree with mike c about the 'i-pod= happyignorance' apsect of travelling on public transport, i too need to listen to the i-pod. i gave up the public transport because;
a. its shit
b. why wake up in the morning to have rude people pushing in front of you when you've paid the same money as them to take it
c. its shit
d. although i spend more money on bikes now it actually is worth spending money on them as opposed to public transport
e. to much weird and uncomfortable staring at the tube signs
f. people either stink of too much of cologne in the morning or fucking body odour in the evening
d.....well its fucking mindnumbingly shit!!!nuff said bikes win for me!!!

there are many rhyme and slang used to day that are made up like 'pete tong' (wrong) to name one and there are more traditional ones like 'trouble and strife' (wife) it was just bollocks really and is only used to day through humour, trend or just what you was brought up with
