do you know any cycling related films and where i could get hold of them.
a small cinema in south east london is prepared to screen them for us to raise money for charity.
place holds 40 to 50 people and is very cosy.
it wont be expensive and could be a nice evening one night a week for a month
the thought came to me because i really want to see 'stars and the watercarriers'
which is in the same vein as a 'sunday in hell' if you know that film. and it deserves to be seen on a biggish screen.a ride could be incorporated into the evening if you liked straight after the film or it could be beer :-)
provisionally i need to know rough numbers of who would be interested what films you know of or would like to see and prefered evening.
what happens in film club, stays in film club.
I could burn you a copy of our 2007 fireflies 1000km alpine ride from geneva for screening it is approx 50minutes.. 50 riders, 19mountains, 8 days of podcast diaries, 20,000ft of climbing some very funny moments.. here is day 4 on youtube..

I will fight you all. In Italy I was a champion wrassler until I had an injury from a Sicilian. Sicilians are pigs and not really Italian. I spit on them. So who wants to fight with me? I will not make the same mistake I made with the Sicilian this time, that is a promise. E.
I will fight all Italians who are cowards and mummy boys (only exceptions Apuglia where real italian men live).. ciao Brutto.

@HenvY, don't play attention to the postings, it's just their way of saying hello.. no one has to conform to some right of passage or ridicule to ride a fucking bike..
individual style or self expression is the name of the game, not seeking appoval..
If others want to waste time arguing over what is and what ain't, let them kill this thread.. start over

my father-in-law stopped riding at 71, prostate problems, he was gutted with the news.. he hasn't ridden for a year now.. and recently mentioned selling all his racing bikes, gathering dust and rust.. he has some real gems, had hoped he would leave them for us.. he loved cycling it was his life and freedom around the Cotwolds countryside.. He still talks about the Easter 3 day tour when we covered 160 miles (he was 69 ffs) and taking him to Paris to see the final stage of the Tour in 2007. He never got to ride 70 miles on his 70th Birthday, that was his wish.
The point I am saying is that he was a great rider in his time with Banbury Star CC, too modest is an under-statement. And has become a shadow of the man I first met 20 years ago, veteran champion and knew every racing trick there was, and every inch of road between Birmingham Oxford Gloucester..
fuck that was emotional, got carried away then, someone add a bit of humour please..

My saddle was tilted quite far back and comfortable, but I was getting sores. I've put it flat but it's uncomfortable and I keep shifting my weight around.
Wrong saddle, wrong angle or wrong frame size?
It's a cheap charge spoon.
Thanks!
Check bike frame size against saddle height against your size..
then try other saddles like Fizik / Selle / Specialized..
and then get some proper cycling bib shorts Assos F1 Mille or Uno..
then apply Assos Chamois (cock and ball) Cream...These solutions are not cheap, but these areas are the most important for any rider, whether it is 30 or 100 mile ride..

Hippy I have a theory about drug taking in sport, when an athlete is prepared to 'win at any cost' and pressure from sponsors hungry for success could easily render twats like Hamilton / Vino / Rasmussen and Landis to cheat. We have minor sports in the UK starved of funding struggling to make ends meet, producing crap talent, and the flip side where sport is well funded fucking up athletes what amounts to a huge gamble.. sorry to generalise.. I love procycling and TeamGB is having a renaissance, but the Tyler's of this world should get a life-time ban and HTFU.. there are still alot of them out there, especially the top Italian riders like Danilo de Luca who need to be checked over and Lance Armstrong also needs to clear his name, if he is ever to return to the Tour de France and settle matters with Agence Francaise de Lutte Contre le Dopage..
sorry I wanted the get that across.

I must say that most cycle lanes are marked against the pavement or near side where parked cars are. I prefer to ride down the centre of the road facing on coming traffic, because all of my close calls are nearside...
classic close call.. driver ahead stops nearside just before tee junction, blocking my view and car waiting (or not) and fuck.. near miss when car pulls out.
I have right of way but no protection or time to manouvre, many front grilles tattooed with my left pedal.. peace

honey great with porridge.. taste is all in the local flowers etc.. that's what makes bee-keeping an artform, respect to those that can do it.. need to be a great gardener though or live somewhere with plenty of pollen / nectar.. i don't know why i know this but the bee industry has crashed, mass extintion mystery in the UK..
anyway beats talking about tyre treads or was it tyre threads.. yawn..

alamac68:
Naw its a book called "a world without bees" got it for my mum. We got a beehive back at home. The towels were ready to get in the washing machine!!! When is laundry day I pile the selected clothes to be washed.trip: i would love to keep bees, we have a modest garden with fruit trees, a rabbit and plenty of songbirds.. almost disney-like in NW8..
