very much still WIP - needs brooks chopping, longer seatpost, front wheel rebuilding as a clincher and some single chainring bolts fitting
oh yeah - and it needs repainting due to the flamethrower seatpost removal by Argos :)

not a special - as it has the cable guides on the top tube which the 76 special doesnt have.
Also that special doesnt have mounts for shifters and I think the specials from around then all had campagnolo dropouts - the frame above obviously has simplex ones....I think they put it at late 70s or early 80's

Any chance I could grab the Sachs chainset but with a 42tooth ring instead of the 39?

Sachs is ISO i believe (as it was made by campy)

95% - the semi-wrapover seatstays were a trademark of the special (and the angles are the same)

Yup - word had it that it was on the cards as they had actually stopped manufacturing the emulsion a couple of years ago as the US department of defence was no longer ordering it. Thus they have cutting it up into 35mm ever since - guess they got to the end of the reel....

my casati lo-pro:
needs new front rim (its a tub at the moment) and a 42 tooth chainring and some single chainring bolts + a longer seatpost and the brooks needs chopping.
Really happy with the way it rides - is surprisingly comfortable

What I am lead to believe is around an '83 Holdsworth Special.
Its 531 and has an interesting serial number of just 777 under the bottom bracket ...Has been resprayed (poorly - not by me) and has non original chrome forks (headset included).
24" Seat tube (61cm) and 23" top tube (59cm) so will suit someone tall -I'm just over 6 foot and it fits me fine - but I recon would suit up to someone 6'3"ish
