Lovely pictures Grow-up... if you don't mind I'm going to attach them to an email and send them to everyone I know with a little explanation?
It is a wonder about the cycling ads, why isn't there a cycling marketing board (like the milk marketeding board... "acrighton stanley, who are they?!" "exactly"[1]), a clongomeration of bike companies and retailers advertising why cycling is good and how the health benifits outweight the safety fears?
[1] needs to be said in a scouse accent

Why'd they arrest him after they'd checked it over with an "explosives dog"? FFS?
"Safety of the traveling public is our first concern," said Greaud... surely once the bike checked out as not being a bomb that was sorted?!
Why specifically the travelling public? (is he trying to suggest he doesn't give a fuck about the cyclist? or airport workers?)

Babe made me cry. I didn't like how they were mean to the old man.
Bambie, went to see it in the old wimbledon theatre which had a balcony (about 20 something years ago now)... the people below must have thought it was raining...
Not much of a confession though... better one is that ET gave me nightmares... someone got me the picture book of the film and I couldn't touch it, because it scared me so much...

dude, it is a very good idea to buy or get hold of some decent lights. the condition of some of the roads is pretty poor at the moment and relying on other lights is too risky for yourself and other riders. put the word out on the forum to see if you can borrow some. you need a powerful front light but ordinary rear lights are fine.
that is not to say that you aren't more than welcome on the ride. look forward to seeing youOk, will probabably wait until I have some better lights then.
(also going on too many rides for the other half so the one's I'm least prepared for are probably the best to drop :-)

Would like to make it, lights not that great though (usual catseye types...) can I just follow and use the light from others?
I only live 10 miles from effingham junction... so might cycle home depending on how fast you guys go...?
(I guess cycling there would be silly? I recon I could make it to effingham for 8 easy, although it would mean I'd have done about a 90 mile day.... hmmm)

andyp: Well, last year waterloo bridge did qualify as hill in my books ;)
Was talking to one of the cyclists at work about the hills i do on my commute (nothing massive, just balham and one in stoneleigh, which feels massive as it's at the end of my commute) and he seriously mentioned how hard going over tower bridge was! FFS!
I built my fixed in Seattle... they've got proper hills out there...
